Whether it deserves it or not, Halo's back story has always had a large fan following as far as I can tell. I'd have expected the first issue, at least, to do much better business. The action scenes were lifeless and I cringed when we got FPS panels. The non-MC parts could easily make up for it but they didn't. I'm also not sure Maleev's completely colourless approach to the Covenant works. They were all ink and no character. Those were pretty much my feelings as well.
