My very first day at Burning Man, it went like this:
1) Geodesic dome needs a ladder so that we can build the roof. Start Quest for ladder.
2) Find ladder at neighbor’s camp. Unfortunately, it’s locked inside the neighbor’s Semi Truck, and he’s lost the keys.
3) Start search for a locksmith or bolt cutters.
4) Find a mechanics camp. They’ve got a bandsaw for cutting bolts, but they have no generator.
5) Find a place that has a generator. Spend half an hour helping them bend metal bars for an art project in exchange.

Finish bending, awarded generator, awarded bandsaw, cut truck lock off, awarded ladder, build shelter from the wind!

Level up!

WoW is still king for a lot of good reasons, not the least of which is that the gameplay is actually FUN.

You could have saved yourself some time and effort by watching some Japanese _anime_; nearly every such series teaches this lesson. (Teenage boys with giant robots are also frequently helpful, if you can find one.)

Wonderful story and a great antic, nicely pulled off.

Perhaps the age issue has to do with the fact that past thirty, most people have given up hopes of being The Destined One (as they should, since yours truly is obviously the rightful bearer of that title!)

Adventuring and questing is – in reality and fiction alike – about hope, freedom and grinding enough money to buy that darned mount!

Um, CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and resuscitation means to revive, so yeah, it can bring someone back. In many instances it does just keep the circulatory and respiratory systems going enough for more advanced efforts, but it’s not uncommon for chest compressions and mouth to mouth to get things going again. (if this happens to you, you should still see a medical professional afterwards).
Also, mayors are by definition the head of a city, so in most cities the mayor being in town is no reason for police to act any different than before.
This is an interesting concept, but you really really need to get your intro fluff right.

Last time I was in San Francisco, the panhandlers seemed to have a bizarre tradition of jumping out from behind bushes, yelling “NYAH!”, and pressing a dollar into tourists’ hands. It happened about three times around Fisherman’s Wharf.

And yet, the overriding memory is still of Ghiradelli’s wonderful banana splits…
