Graham Goring has gone and made a version of Commodore-era game-fossil Wizball. Playing this remake reminds me that I never liked the original, but I was retrospectively deceived by residual fondness for the box art:
Kieron notes that Wizkid was better, despite its box art being absolutely rubbish. Mmm.

Thought both were dull really :)
Far better commadore-era games that are ripe for remakes rather than that :/

Wizkid was great. I was only about 8 when I first played it and it was brilliantly bizarre.
I remember my dad and his mate playing it and laughing which made it terminally cool. I now presume it was the ‘golden shower’ they found amusing.
Ah, the innocence of youth.

Kieron is pretty correct.

I had Wizball 2 for my Amstrad CPC, it was brilliant, even though I had no clue what was going on.

This got me thinking, any chance of a retrospective on Head over Heels? There is a remake of it and it’s actually still pretty fun. I suggest googling anyway, if only for the clever (for the time) mechanics.

I always thought Wizball, although brilliant, was particularly cruel to the colour blind.
Great game though :)
