Dark Crusade was actually the best selling of the DoW series so far, apparently. So, yeah, some people felt it was necessary.

1) Is a third expansion really necessary? Dark Crusade felt obsolete after Dawn of War, and that was a year ago. Make a true sequel already.

2) Of those familiar with the setting, how many would have preferred the Zerg-- uh, I mean, the Tyranid? I know that's what I was hoping for.

3) Of those NOT familiar with the setting beyond the PC, who wants a third faction of fascist-theocratic humans and their power-armor, this time with boobs?

4) As to whether the Tau are awesome or pants: the Tau are fantastic because they pose a challenge to the fundamental philosophical underpinnings of the setting, and are, in their own way, as much of a threat to the status quo of the galaxy as the Necrons or the Tyranid, despite having a minuscule faction of their military power. Either they're hopelessly naive and they're going to get splattered like bugs on a windshield, or they're right and the whole assumption of unending Hobbesian war is flawed.

I think by now heroin's cheaper than building a WH army. Have you seen what they charge for some f'ing plastic minis these days?

They've said on the record repeatedly that what they want to do with Tyranids wasn't possible in the current engine. That said, they said the same about flying stuff until they worked out a work-around so part of me was wondering whether they'd do something similar here.

Regarding heroin, I always said that Games Workshop is what middle class English kids do instead of skag.

Sucram, you lucky bastard. I think my problem is that I started gaming before I started doing drugs. Maybe if I'd done it the other way round, I wouldn't have gotten beaten up so often as a teenager..

Fortunately, with all the heroin I was taking in my youth I couldn’t afford Games Workshop stuff.

Therefore I’m not disappointed by the lack of more specialised demonic Chaos forces; I experience enough of that sort of stuff in real life and have no idea what it’d mean in relation to this futuristic war hammer malarkey.

It is utterly ridiculous to me that DoW still, still has no Tyranids in it. Tyranids, the galaxy-spanning threat to all life as we know it, are once again ignored in favour of two decidedly niche races that nobody gives two wet farts about. I'm quite sure that the design decision behind this one was positively influenced by the opportunities to have a Dark Eldar Wych and a Sister Repentia entwined in a decidedly sensual battle pose on the cover, with blades and clothing and bullets in all the right places to cover up any sort of nipple that might happen to slipple out.

ARGH.

TychoCelchuuu - the Dark Eldar trailer had the same pink planet so I don't think it's related to the fact that it's the sisters of battle in this trailer.

I wonder if they'll have the allied races fighting each other for no reason again.
