Eidos Montreal, Investigated.

By Kieron Gillen on December 20th, 2007 at 9:38 am.

A few weeks ago, when Eidos Montreal had their open-house, we wondered if any RPSites were going to get the scoop. It seems that one kinda has. Friend of RPS, Matt Kumar popped along for a good nose for official industry Cleverthinks site, Gamasutra.

“Stéphane D’Astous, General Manager of the newly-formed Eidos Montreal, is bullish about his studio’s planned development cycle. “Trying to get nine women to give birth to a baby in one month doesn’t work. Everyone has tried that in this industry, but we decided to cut the bullshit,” D’Astous declared on our in-depth tour of the new facility.”

Is there more questionable biology metaphors in the piece? You’ll have to read it to find out.

  1. Echo Nolan says:

The metaphor is cribbed directly from The Mythical Man-Month, a software project management bible. The fact that Stephane has read and understands the book bodes rather well for Eidos: Montreal.

So it seems that if Spector wasn’t engaged with Disney, he’d no doubt be heading this project, considering that both Spector and D’Astous have made comments about the matter suggesting so.

Eidos Montreal seems proud and ambitious, but I’ll have to see something substantial before I can decide whether to look forward to this title.
