Street Fighter Online

By John Walker on February 14th, 2008 at 11:36 am.

Want to play Street Fighter with your mouse?

Odd question, but soon to be possible with Street Fighter Online: Mouse Generation.

Gametrailers – our thanks is that much more soppy this Feb 14th.

It’s a crushing disappointment that this isn’t about the squeaky pets of familiar SF characters. Interesting concept. (By “interesting”, what I mean here is, “Huh? How is that going to work?”).

It’s not going to work is it, it’ll all be too vague. Like Rag Doll Kung Fu, everyone raved about it but really it didn’t work as a fighting game.

Above and beyond the mouse controlliness, note the weird joints on the characters. The characters are actually meant to be “revoltech” street fighter action figures. You can even mix and match parts (and consequently, character moves) in the game to create hideous mutant hybrids.

So this game’s a bit of a weird one in all respects. I guess they figured that if they were making a game of an action figure line of a game then they may as well give up on convention altogether. Good for them.
