The characters are actually meant to be "revoltech" street fighter action figures. You can even mix and match parts (and consequently, character moves) in the game to create hideous mutant hybrids. So this game's a bit of a weird one in all respects. I guess they figured that if they were making a game of an action figure line of a game then they may as well give up on convention altogether.
