It’s time for, to paraphrase Al Lowe’s memorable line, the first videotape from his son’s new kidnappers. How are the Leeds’ very own Team 17 looking after Larry?

Wan… I mean, Thanks GameTrailers!

For the record, RPS’ favourite Gears of War advert parody remains the one a mate of mine did a year ago.

Yeah, that was incredibly unfunny. I didn’t even crack a smile once.

Also, you meant Gears of War, but that just goes to show how bloody generic videogame names are.

  2. It’s funny that Walker and I were spending a good ten minutes fiddling with the video and text to get it to do what we wanted, and hadn’t even reached the bottom of the post.

No matter how good or bad this trailer is, I demand more (better) parody in videogames.
We seriously need a Mel Brooks of games.

That pseudo-Larry’s movement looked really, really wonky.

It needs a really awful pun to go with it. Leers of War, surely?

  7. Binni says:

This looks stupid and horrible all around. Why does it have to look so much like a 10 year old kids game? What is actually funny about someone staring at badly rendered boobs and why do you have to make a whole game out of that joke? It’s the same problem as with Monkey Island 4. It just looks terribly unfunny and bad.

The “Thriller” element was more than a little odd.

Leisure suit larry: This game is rated M but anyone older then 17 won’t buy it

  14. I have no idea where people get the idea that RPS are just all about terrible puns. We’re also about song references.

But Music is My Hot Hot Sex would only work with AudioSurf, and I refuse to let the non Al Lowe Larry steal Love Machine.

Don’t make your inability to be funny the most laughable thing in your whole trailer.

So that’ll be a 30% PCG score, then?

    Sounds about right.

So what happened to this? It was supposed to be released sometime in Autumn, which is kinda now unless I’ve been indoors for too long. Did it get shelved? Didn’t realise Team17 was making this… I don’t think they’ve ever done any adventure games have they?
