I can’t see anyone paying for browser games like these when the biggies like Quake Live are doing the rounds.

AFAIK, what Quake Live was not meant to be, is a game that you can download and play in a very short time, in any PC with an old graphics card, and an inet conection.

Just look at the name: "InstantAction". It is not the same concept than just a plugin to run games on the web (which is not new, many engines have web plugins since a long time).

t's great to see people starting to get excited, to see the possibilities, not just of our platform but about the idea of the web as a place where all kinds of gaming can be done. Thanks for covering it. Let's do "lunch."

/me hits Win Break

Lets hope this stuff needs less that a Pentium D 3Ghz w/1Gb RAM and an X600.

Otherwise I'll be stuck playing Spin The Black Circle forever.

Was Quake Live meant to be a free game? Because I can't see anyone paying for browser games like these when the biggies like Quake Live are doing the rounds.

It does raise interesting opportunities to bring other old games into browser territory. Theme Hospital, maybe?
