What? Check? Was that a figure of speech or are we missing something about the PCGA here?

It's just how the industry works, the members of the PCGA all pay to keep it running, but that also means they get a chance to decide what direction it takes.

More like Epic Fail. If they made games that didn't suck or weren't dumbed down rehashes or console ports I'd buy them. But they don't, so...

"...we want to sell games like Unreal Tournament III and Gears of War on PC, and have them sell as well as they do on console.”

And that's a huge mistake. Somebody from the GFW mag brought this up on the 1up show last Friday. The problem with publishers is that they all want to have the same numbers on PC that they get on console, which is simply not realistic for 99% of games. I mean sure WOW and the Sims series put up huge numbers, but this is a few license out of hundreds, if not thousands. Back in the day, people were considering a game was a hit on PC if it sold 250 000 copies, now it has to be the next COD 4 or Halo 3, which is just stupid.

Publishers have to consider the platform when setting sales objectives and they have to compare oranges with oranges and apples with apples. Of course, developers have to make sure that their game is the absolute best they can do on each platform that they develop for, but it is not because you put the same kind of effort on your PC and console versions that you'll have the same numbers.

The harrying was the best part of the article - there should be more harrying in video games journalism, harrying, monstering and malicious slander make for entertained readers and well fed lawyers, who otherwise might turn feral and savage a todder.

I freely admit to being paranoid, but this bit

piracy's clearly a problem, and there's all kinds of other things again because the PC is not just a gaming platform. The idea behind the Gaming Alliance is to help the PC platform be a better gaming platform, and we totally support that.

says "locked-down hardware platforms FTW!" to me. And if Mark Rein thinks anything the PCGA does will get PC game sales figures into console game territory, he is a cheerfully delusional bunny.

WOULD.

However, just because we all want to make sex with Bleszinski doesn't excuse him from his unique brand of drivel, you know.

I'm amused that Rein seems to be a bit too dim to realise that Bramwell is mocking him.

I think Rein and Bleszinski both seem to be idiots. EPIC FAILS.

Not the smartest comments in the industry to the gamers that created epic from cliffyb there. He definitely needs more of a muzzle on than has been shown lately.
