Audiosurf reminds me of pretzels covered in chocolate. By that I mean it sounds like a daft concept that shouldn't work since (it's technically nothing more than a glorified media player visualisation), but then you try it for yourself and you end up hooked for ages.

Dragonforce are the well renowned masters of 'insane bat-shit hard Audiosurf tracks', but then some of their music is just random noise at the best of times... I like my music to be listen-able as I surf it. :)

I found this game be more challenging and fun when you try really hard songs. Ain't talking about dope, is one of them for those who remember it, and some other hard rock or melodic death or gothic songs.
Yeah, I know most of you here don't listen this type of music genres but I can't imagine someone playing this game for more than two days playing Can't live without you...

Dunno. The high score list is also a pretty good validation for the music hunter-gathers with tons of stuff nobody else seems to listen to. Best in the world at Feedtime, woo-hoo!

It tickles me whenever I get an 'Audiosurf Scorekeeper' email telling me that someone else has taken a punt (and, indeed, bested me) on, say, an Aussie one-hit-wonder from 1992 or so -- I'm not alone! Other people remember Single Gun Theory!

(and Butler, I'm guessing they mean to say that if you do not HAVE said 'deep love of music', then Audiosurf may displease you. Although such a caveat regarding a game that essentially exists to accentuate music is taking the piss a bit. "You mean to say this Audiosurf game requires MUSIC? But... I hate the musical form, and all that is associated with it! I demand my money back!")

But for those of you who play with colors (as opposed to Mono), the Los Campesinos! track You!Me!Dancing! features a blast of red followed by a tempo structure reminiscent of The Wild Bunch.

You'll hate:

    * Simplistic gameplay
    * Requires deep love of music

Is the gamesradar review straight to the sexy? I like it when they're straight to the sexy. I find sites which don't go straight to the sexy frustrating.
