Does anyone know how to increase the population limit in Colonization? I still play it to get a fix, but I hit the limit fairly quickly…

Same here. I re-installed the bugger on my PC even before the news was sent that a new Colonization is on its way.
I feel like I was too young in ’94 to really grasp the game. I hope to do better this time.
I tried to install Colonization on my Pocket PC (using DosBox). Imagine my surprise when I found out it works perfectly (i.e. : no sound and pretty slow – but VERY playable). So my lost time on the train is now too short. As is sleeping time ;-)

The other nations did eventually declare independence and beat you – I find out once when avoiding declaring just to perfect my huge economy. They gave you turns of warning though, and it was very late on.

It would have been nice to have other ways to win. Sheer profit, knocking out everyone else, huge number of liberty bells or maybe some kind of native related method.

Aye, the Fountain of Youth tune is called Old Joe Clark, which is a great one to play very fast, with electric effects.

The wonders in colonization were great, you could discover around 3 fountains of youth, good times.

The best was the music, it is so great. I only discovered the game a few years ago and i do find my self playing it sometimes.

Wow…floods back the memories for me. I feel like almost playing this now. Strangely enough I caught wind of this from some Spanish MMORPG players…who made fun of me one day for enjoying Sid Meier’s works. :) Cheezy games ftw. ( btw..I have a copy of this on disc, kinda glad my dad was a great nerd back then.. before the internet became a “virus” and pc’s are bad now.) LOL.
