Hoshi Saga – Puzzle Loveliness

By John Walker on April 7th, 2008 at 9:43 pm.

Don’t thank me, thank friend-of-RPS Sam C, for today’s wonderful puzzle game. And you will thank her, because this is joyful.

Ok, this one's relatively easy.

Hoshi Saga is by Japanese developers Nekogames, it’s a series of completely charming puzzles based around finding the star. Little more needs to be said – just go play. And then come back here to thank Sam, and then yell at her because you’re stuck and really frustrated.

I just was playing this earlier! Great game.

BTW. Isn’t it a bit late to be “Working” Walker?…No offence….your highness…..*shuffles away*

Oh and I have my reasons for being online too….too much sugar…

  2. Schtee says:

    These stars get everywhere…

…that one with the little bouncy stars, stage 12, is quite the mother-fucker.

    …oh and thanks, Sam!

    report

  3. That is wonderfully cool

  4. Mary Loll says:

… except for #33 which touches children. The ending was a let down too but, yeah, good waste of time, which is what we like.

  5. Chris R says:

What the Deus….. I can’t figure out Stage 22…. it’s just a blank sheet and no amount of clicking or frantic mouse waving seems to do anything. What gives?

NEVERMIND…. I got it. Need to have sound to figure out 22 apparently.

    report

  6. You have to find the star.

  7. K says:

Ugh. I already expect an ending song from everything.

    (Thank you, Sam).

  8. Ohle says:

I can’t do 29. With the ropey things with the dots and the release button. UGH.

Well nevermind. Overthinking, overanalyzing separates the body from the mind.

  9. Ohle says:

    The sequel is rather fiendish.

  10. Pace says:

I highly recommend stage 47 in part 2 (if you feel like doing 42-46 to unlock it.)

  11. Frosty840 says:

33 is bizarre and awful, yes.
    Thanks to Sam, though.

EDIT: Oh yeah, puzzle 47 is awesome.
    Thanks, Pace.

i cannot do number 30. any suggestions?

  13. Flint says:

Clearing 47 made me feel goddamn good and proud of myself.

I can’t understand 61 though. And 18 just doesn’t want to solve though I think I understand what to do with it.

  17. Sam C says:

Q: “But how are you going to spend the rest of this day?”
    A: Hoshi Saga 2

    report

  18. Okami says:

    GRAAARRRRG!!!!!!!

    damn stage 29…

and anybody found out, what to do at stage 33?

I’ve tried everything that’s physically possible with a mouse and nothing happens.

    Curse you, Sam!

    EDIT: Hah! Gotcha, stage 33!

    report

  19. Sam (not C) says:

    …so, how /do/ you do 33?
I get the impression you’re supposed to do something to the “bars” that diagonally bisect the screen, but even frantically dragging the mouse back and forth over them like a saw doesn’t seem to do anything…

…never mind, it’s just very very sensitive as to precisely how you do things.

    Oh, and; Thanks Sam!

    report

  20. Big J says:

EDIT: this was a spoiler to 33 but they all figured it out, sorry people who can’t finish 33!

    report

  21. Flint says:

33 is the only one missing for me and I’m absolutely stumped.

Hoping that I’ll understand it now right after posting this, seeing as it has helped for others too.

    report

  22. ThomasLawrence says:

No. 21 on the first game has me stuck. Looks like a… sunset? Viewed through a letterbox?

No amount of clicking appears to do anything…

EDIT: never mind. That was, uh, arbitrary.

    report

  23. FP says:

    Any suggestions for no. 40?

  24. always_black says:

I’ll twinkle twinkle IT’S fucking star.

    report

  25. Chris says:

I can’t figure 21 What the heck am I supposed to do??

    report

  26. kibibu says:

21 needs sound – find the bit that goes “ping” when you click it.

    report

  27. Ixtab says:

The one with the musical glasses on the second one (47 I think) annoyed me because I knew what to do and could have done it easily if it hadn’t been so unresponsive. I ended up playing some things three times because I didn’t think it had registered first time. So hod to start again.

The first one was good though.

    report

  28. lucy says:

OMG how dya do stage 28 :S im confused
