I'm very impressed with this game. The graphics are excellent, runs great on my PC, and the art direction is amazing. Alot of attention to detail was put into this game. I'm excited to see how GPG and Stardock expand on this game in both MP and SP respects. Anyway, if you have time, take a visit to www.sheeparcade.com

I hear you, and I share your concern - but I'll be damned if I don't let convenience rule me :D

Stardock using Steam isn't a bad idea but there's something to be said for competition. Valve are nice guys who understand gamers for the most part but can we guarantee they'll stay that way forever? A strong alternative service is a good way to ensure Steam doesn't become Windows IMO. It'd be nice if there was some kind of interconnectivity for convenience, though.

I don't... I kind of like the Steam platform, my GalCiv games are completely disconnected from that which is a shame. It's just easier to have it all in one place. By all means do the publishing thing, but err, use Steam for my convenience pwease.

Hopefully this will also mean that they'll try to make it able to run on older systems. SoaSE was the only game released in the past year or so that my crummy laptop has been able to run decently.

Sounds great and I hope it really pays off for GPG the way it did for Ironclad.

I also don't have much of a problem of a missing or delayed european retail release - their digital distribution, paypal payment and the low $ made Sins a very convenient purchase for me.

The 'worldwide' part of that press release better counts for the retail version as well idd. Maybe Stardock should expand to Europe if they can't find suitable publishers/distributors here.

Brilliant news about the "no on-disc copy protection" thing. But as a picky gamer, online distribution platforms are a right pain.

I really hate registration-bloat and the ratio of "different places I have to sign up" to "number of games I want to get from them" is not very far off 1:1.

Basically, I hope that all but one of them dies a horrible death and is devoured by its competitors, creating some kind of hideous hybrid online platform that's actually convenient to use.
