I loved ground control 2. Still the best game ive ever played and i played it for 3 years daily!
World in Conflict is still good, but not as good as GC 2 is. If you play support you can´t attack tanks for example. Thats what i do not like. I know it is not going to happen but i would love to see a ground control 3 part.
Anyway: Really thanx for those fantastic (by the way the best ) RTS games ive ever played in my life.
Guys, get your team back, you did an amazing job those years. I love you for this.
Best regards to Malmo

I thought the Ground Control expansion was pretty good... They did some damn nice CGI - Sarah Parker never looked nicer :)
Never cared much for the sequel though - too many pages were taken from the encyclopaedic tomb of Sci-Fi Generica!

WiC sure made up for it though :D

I don't know if this is still available (and what countries it is) but looksee - free Ground Control!!!

I'm still surprisingly bitter over the abandonment of Ground Control. Both by Massive in the rubbish (though pretty) sequel, and the industry at large.

It remains one of my favourite games, pulled out every year for another play through. It does so much right that the lack of similar games is astonishing.

Since World in Conflict has a bigger fan-base than Ground Control, all they have to do to re-launch Ground Control is to release it as a World in Conflict game.

"WORLD IN CONFLICT: FUTURE WARS"

The reality of this situation is probably not lost on Walfisz. The right question was just not asked to see if they were actively pursuing it :)

This game left me cold for some reason. I don't have a lot of friends who play RTS so that means depending on random strangers online to team up with. No thanks. Also, I honestly lost a lot of suspension of disbelief with the unit naming. Honestly, I would have been happier with them choosing random names out of a hat for the units than leaving them things like "heavy tank", "light tank", etc.

I might just have to fire up World in Conflict again. I'm not quite sure why it didn't take off with my friends like it did for me.

Great interview, I'm also a big fan of Ground Control and World in Conflict. GC1 never did really get the recognition it deserved which was a shame as the camera/UI system Massive came up with is the (& still is to me) best one I have ever used for an RTS game.

I was never big on Ground Control 2 they shouldn't have done the massive time jump into the future they had a perfectly good universe already set up with some interesting protagonists and it was just too much of a disconnect from the first game for me (& I think other fans too). Massive if you ever get the chance to re-visit GC pretend GC2 & that weak Dark Conspiracy expansion pack to GC1 never happened, do a proper sequel ;-)

With WiC I really liked how the managed the story with the painted stills and in game cut scenes it was a very well executed mix.

I hope the find further success with the console version of WiC as I always through the gameplay & controls lended themselves well enough to gamepads, hopefully it will be a big hit for them.

I feel compelled to break out Ground Control and give it a proper go this time.

By the way, his answer to the second last question appears to be cut off.
