I’m actually going through torpedo training in SH4 right now. So far so interesting. Probably the first game I’ve played where making use of a compass and protractor is vital.
But it is vitally cool when you successfully calculate and plot your torpedoes and sink an enemy vessel. See here:

What is it with the flak gun?
Heh, love Strafe Left.
@Alex: You mean why pick it up? For the same reason you’d fit someone with concrete shoes if you wanted to drown them.
Nice comic by the way, Tim.
Nice work, I like that the squid ink memoirs idea is the thing that tips it.
For the first time I’m left baffled. What’s the reference?
Silent Hunter III, I presume.
I don’t really see a reference here. It’s just funny.
You would figure they’d bolt the flak gun down to rpevent this sort of thing.

Short Sunderland. Oh, you have to be a very special sort of nerd to laugh at that one. And I laughed.
Would’ve been better if the last panel was just the silent grey guy standing with no one beside him.
@Fraser:
You’re onto something there.
Yeah Fraser, that’s what I thought was going to happen at the end. :( Poor grey guy.
