God knows when Epic’s hyper-muscular shooter sequel will chainsaw its way through a flimsy format-exclusive to find itself on PC, but here’s the first footage anyway. It’s introduced by the Internet’s favourite Clifford Bleszinski, Clifford Bleszinski, who is the lead designer on the game. By golly it looks a bit exciting: guns, giant machines, flying octopuses ridden by evil aliens. ClickJump for War.

That shot of dozens of baddies running along under the gigantic war machine is awesome. Yeah.

    You guys need to be less fanboy-ish. That was fairly impressive.

  2. Gwog says:

    Can you ever actually KILL ANYTHING with the guns? Never played GOW1 and after watching a lot of videos have always wondered this.

  3. ache says:

    Yeah, see, in co-op the shitty vehicle section, appaling characters and dodgy cover system are opportunities to laugh at the game, which is fun. Then you chainsaw someone into pieces, and the extreme violence and the humour are nice counterpoints and accuntuate* each other. Playing Gears in co-op is easily the most fun I’ve had with a current-gen console.

    *typo but I’m leaving it in.

  4. Radiant says:

    The guns do shit if you play on INSANE.
    Play it on normal like normal people and don’t play it on super hard and complain.

    @Masked: “Also, I really like CliffyB’s t-shirt.”

    It might as well have said “Yes, I am a douche”

    mmm i kinda have to agree with the “its grey on grey” comments.
    why arent there more games like Tron 2.0? yeah the engine is pretty much totally outdated and the gameplay wasnt perfect but i’d come back for more just because it looked so damn awsome.
    This looks like the game play is good but my god it looks dull visually, a fong shaded grey man is still a grey man

  7. Paul Moloney says:

    Never understood the excitment over the first one, myself. You have to get out of cover to shoot enemies as it seems to take, oh, 5 million bullets to kill each one. I’m sure it’s a laugh as a co-op game with a few beers, but as a single-player experience, it is meh.
