I think it’s the most funny when you catch the meaning of the joke a short time after you’ve read the symbol and its meaning. I probably laughed more about my own slowliness in comprehending than over the clever connection of M and Dame Judi Dench. And Mr Stone obviously speculated about some culture knowledge about current Bond movies.

It’s this short period where you recognize you’ve tripped over something curious but couldn’t quite grasp it. And then it dawns on you suddenly.

I know, analyzing jokes is lame, but I like how this is built up. It starts quite the innocent. And, bam, with 3 buttocks it catches you completely off guard. Much like a Monty Python skit which mostly start also as if nothing out of the ordinary would happen. At least if you begin reading from top left down the column first.

Addendum: just realized that the line B Chest before is the actual, real opener here. Talk about slow…

I suppose Cabbage Smell would be better than the bright purple patches of miasma wafting through your average Dwarf Fortress.

(And yes this is indeed probably my favourite Strafe Left. Orc wearing helmet made of testicles gets me every time)

I just love the idea of bright green patches of Cabbage Smell dispersing throughout the dungeon, covering everything in its wake with the smell of cabbage.

Don’t ask me why, but the Smell of Cabbage, and Hobgoblet got me best. Sniggering like an idiot. Pure the best one yet.
