I am genuinely amused by the implication that he’s grown up and doesn’t want to make games with titles like “Unreal Tournament” anymore. Focusing of course, on mature projects like “Gears of War”.

Getting older, changing his name, and cutting his hair is never going to make people forget what an ass he made of himself for so many years.

It seems CliffyB has spent a long time away from the phenomenon known as “real life” where:
1) cliffyb is on the inoffensive end of the nickname spectrum
2) asking people to stop using a certain nickname has the reverse effect
3) deliberately making superficial changes to convey you are more mature makes your old friends think you are wankers and your new friends think you are a cock sucking try hard
Good thing we’re all mature and not doing something silly like wasting time reading about a throw-away comment some bloke made in passing that was posted on a blog article…

P.S. I have many nicknames. Yea, the one I use here is definitely from my younger days, and now I use it…just because. If it was tied into my business life somehow, I’d probably want to change it to. But I never took it that seriously, and I doubt Mr. Bleszinksi did either.

This is the gentleman who was recently the subject of an interview, wherein he extolled the virtues of a forthcoming sequel title, paying specific attention to a combination chainsaw / gun, explicating how it is now able to be shoved right up the opponents’ jacksies, replete with excruciating animations and viscera effects. Quite how this rates on the grown-up scale in comparison with a rather innocuous pseudonym, I couldn’t possibly comment.
