Glad to see another NWN2 expansion is going to be released, and I appreciate the fact that it will offer a different approach compared to previous titles, both for the love of variety and because it means a wider palette of tools available for content creators.

While not generally a big dungeon crawling lover, the open-ended approach definitely grabs my interest: I'm very curious about the Overland Map feature and how the hints of "trading and economic manipulation" will translate in possible implementations of world-wide dynamics.

If they don't screw up with annoying usage conditions (of the activation kind), this is a candidate for my currently very very short list of "buy at release" titles for 2008.

Hermes: I'd expect to hear some more about that, one way or another, when they start doing the DX3 press. Which, if they're following a standard PR pattern, will be in the next few months.

Oooh, this sounds nifty, thanks RPS! I never much cared for the first one (too linear and repetitive for me) and so have thus far avoided NWN2.

That may have to change with this, however. I love making me a party. If nothing else, so that I can say to myself:

YOU MUST GATHER YOUR PARTY BEFORE VENTURING FORTH!

This actually sounds like it might be good. I went off nwn after the first one murdered my machine and I never finished it, I think my expectations were too high as well. I know they improved performance, and I heard the Mask of the Betrayer was better, but still I just never got back into it.

It's one of those series that will always be important to me because of how much time I invested in nwn1 . So good to hear that they are still going with it. I think I'm finally getting the feeling Obsidian aren't rushed. That's what my brand loyalty antennae have been telling me anyway.

It's good to see they're havng fun with a few new ideas, rather then just churning out an XP for the monies. Also, what humanoid races are there left that they could possibly add in?
