Stop the Fake-Arabic musical soundtracks used to denote global evil. Stop them now.

Pentatonic breathey ney flute?
Check.

Clangy-twangy Arabic oud lute?
Check.

Boing-and-tripletty Udu and Darbouka percussion arrangement?
Check.

Ululating/yearning/moaning female vocal?
Full house!

They didn't make much sense in Gladiator.
They made no sense at all in Blackhawk Down.
They made decreasing sense in CoD4.

But now in Khanduras as well? We must fight. We must stop these soundtracks marching across the world. We must fight them before no other forms of soundtrack are permitted.

Wildly excited about the game itself, and awash with admiration for Blizzard in general, but wtf?

Am I the only one that could barely watch all of that, out of cringing? "LOTR Inspired" doesn't cut it. That would be an apt trailer for Limbo Of The Lost.
Honestly, could you imagine a more generic, cliched trailer? Kinda fitting, I guess.

Then why don't you go to Diablo 3 website? There is a 20-minute-long gameplay video.

Their reputation? This is the same company that used to steal code from Westwood studios. I think it depends on what part of their reputation you want to look at. Their reputation for putting out fun games or their reputation for honest and fair dealings.

'Because they’ll make a double metric giga-fuckton of money?'

And alienate customers. Their reputation is worth more than anything they could potentially make off any title.

As to randomly generated landscapes, I hope they do have them (apart from set piece areas of course) even though doing so is difficult with 3D terrain. But imagine if they pulled off a system robust enough to actually handle it. The game would rock so hard.

Well, single player is still in, it remains to be seen to what extent they limit the multiplayer for non paying customers. I mean, they charged for stupid features in Hellgate London, I'm sure Blizzard will do a better job but I can't see the fee being obligatory for all customers, even if the majority would be willing to pay. I may be willing to pay if the features are significant and fun enough to me but I may not even buy it on principle alone if they charge for basic coop with friends over TCP or whatever. Unless it's very cheap like $5/month which would be 3.5 euros for me and if all my friends buy it and rave about its greatness, heh...

As for the other questions, the previous thread mentions a mix of static and generated layouts for the areas so that's a good compromise I guess, so long as the generated aren't just lower end optional stuff but can offer their own grand challenges and appropriate rewards.

Basically imagine just going to a chapel's basement and going through something as epic as the whole first Diablo, all generated, with a badass dungeon boss like say, the butcher level. But the way to there was through a static layout ruined city area like D2. Or something. That'd be neat.

Why would they change the model for the third in the series in terms of pay to play?

Because they'll make a double metric giga-fuckton of money?

Why would they change the model for the third in the series in terms of pay to play?

From the gameplay vid, it looks like 4 players at once - but obviously, there may be more.
