It looks similar to CoH in many respects, but a little more so. While they've made great enhancments recently, they've been lacking in environment which Champions seems to have taken up a notch. I'd be very interested in a trial since I'm not the type to drop $50 blindly.

Not everybody wants to conform to the laws and restrictions of being a hero as Champions Online offers. Villainy and evil is much more fun. Heros are nothing with out an interesting villain.A good villain makes a hero ,developes his or her character. But why be the spandex clad goody two shoes hero when you can be the bad guy and take what you want, do whatever you wish ,and smash a few self righteous clowns. Cov hit that nail on the head.

This looks awesome. But i am an Australian and a big issue for me is whether or not Aussies get local servers. Considering this game is more action-oriented and demanding on reflexes it might not be playable with the latency we get.

I played CoX for a couple of years, and as enticing as Champions Online looks, Jack Emmert is enough to worry me. Dude's a total control freak, and CoX improved greatly once his iron fist left to work on CO.

I agree with malkav11. It is turning me off with the lower hero to foe ratio. If they cannot capture a heroic or epic feel with their combat/game engine/design then once again I will be left wanting a superhero game to pull it off 'right'. Throwing bits of geometry sounds promising but I guess I will never again get to experience a super hero encounter like I did in the first year of CoX.

free to play games are crap , i very much hope champions does not go that route at all suck it up and pay 15 freaking dollars a month or whatever(i would be fine with seeing something like fill out questionaires get free gametime, or reduced monthly fee.

Fees let devs spend more on expansions and fixing bugs! Expansions should cost money more profits ftw what you think cryptic is a non profit org?

Every free game ive played the art is cheesey zones borein and full of ways to empty your cc quick anyway Just say no to cash shops in games for items ! cool looking stuff.. ok im ok with that if they dont go overboard!

And wether its lvls or "skill Points" its all the same grind which is fine , theres nothing wrong with lvl based games.

lvl based games let u get a easy feel for just how powerful someone is in a game

Everything I hear about this except one thing gets me more excited. That one thing is the news that they've dropped the enemy count compared to City of X. One of the most pure joys about that game is the furious melees with a dozen or more opponents simultaneously. I'm not saying that I'm not okay with some smaller-number, higher-individual-enemy-power fights. That'd be silly. But when every other MMO on the market encourages you to sedately ping away at one or maybe two foes at a time, the controlled chaos of City of X was very welcome and it'd be a shame to see Champions Online moving away from that.

Not Drunk, just whiling away my lunch hour.

I'd like a key!

I also second most of the other comments: A champions demo creator would be ace. The option to buy a lifetime sub for retail price ($50-60 or perhaps a bit more) or a low monthly w/ a free client (or if they must, $20 for a box and 2 months of play or something.)

I see the words "power levels" and I read the words "level treadmill".

And the Baby Jesus cries once more.

Hell, it doesn't even need to be no-subscription (though that would be ideal). A Spore-esque standalone character creator, and ideally a place to toy around with the character, would be the best thing ever.

And I won 45 days of gametime on CoH/V a little while back which I haven't used. Maybe I should boot that up.
