Looking like the fun parts of the original.
I just hope when the aliens do turn up that they’ve worked on them to try and make them more fun to fight as I’d read in one interview.
Heh, auto vocalisations. That’s some chonky business right there.
That gives such a wrong image of the gameplay. Or well, I guess you can just run straight towards the enemy on the easiest difficulty setting.
Is there anything new except for that vehicle?
For some reason this reminded me of Goldeneye, but with more explosions…..must be the Russians and some kind of facility
What the hell is going on there? Is that some kind of developer godmode so they can play rubbishly and show off lots of explosions? The health bar is always rapidly rising in that video.
If that’d been the original Crysis it’d have been a video of five seconds over and over; quickload, die, quickload, die, quickload, die… If they’ve changed the amount of damage you can take maybe it’ll actually be fun to do something other than hide and move under cloak the entire time.
I’ll definitely be getting this, I absolutely loved the original.
The alien section was fantastic, but I must admit I’m not looking forward to the necessary stealth/RUN!/stealth rigmarole there when I play through again later.
FANTASTIC GAME.
roBurky, they’re using the Armour setting on the nanosuit most of the time. That does replenish your health. Perhaps it’s been tweaked for Psycho, though, so stealth is less effective and Armour – and possibly Strength – have been boosted.
Well somebody please explain why the person demonstrating a game always has to suck at it? It just makes videos like this painful to watch. RELOAD YOUR GUN
The person playing it had cheats on, watch the players health.
So is this an expansion pack or a proper sequal?
Is the point of this trailer to show off that the followup is exactly like the original?
Expansion pack, Metal.
(although, I think it’s an expandalone)
Thought as much; would have made a pretty rubbish sequal. Still, I’m guessing theres more to the expansion than simply planting bombs on things.
Standalone expansion IIRC. But standalone, Crysis not required.
“RELOAD YOUR GUN”
QFT.
I loved it when he completely failed to throw the grenade over that bunker, made me laugh. I’ve never done that, honest.
I’ve never thought to stick C4 on a vehicle before driving it into the enemy’s position. I’ve also never thought to turn on godmode. WEAK!
I enjoyed Crysis right up to the tank level, which left such a bad taste that the rest is a blur of mediocrity up to the fight with General Korean Guy. That was the hideous stench before being drenched in the dookie-deluge that was the remainder of the game.
I think I had more fun with the demo. Beat it. Then beat it without killing anyone. Then beat it killing everyone. Beat it using only the SCAR. Beat it using only pistols.
I didn’t hear anything about aliens for the first game either. NO SALE
I’m in the same spot as Frag Stag when it comes to Crysis. The aliens really pissed all over the game for me, really. I was having great fun, dicking about with the AI and that, then i’m confronted with a rubbish Alien plot, with shit enemies that simply were not fun to fight.
You can’t go from the korean guys, that were really really fun to fight and play around with the AI, to flying aliens, who’s only remarkable trait is that they have a powerful attack. Where’s the fun in that?
Thats my beef with Crysis. Coulda been good but it shot it self 3/4 of the way through.
I’m almost afraid to ask what the minimum spec will be for this since there is still only like a couple hundred more ppl on the planet who can now run the first Crysis at max settings.
What’s with those accents? Is he fighting… Austrians??
I have rather buget intel dual core config with 2 gigs of RAM and good ol’ 8800GT, and can run Crysis on max settings in 1024×768. You suggest there’s not many people with configs better than my rather cheapskate one? (8800GTs aren’t that expensive now you know, and there are new awesome ATI cards in same price range). I know people usualy have better monitors than my oldskool CRT and have to use their native resolutions, but still new cards should be strong enough, I think. Besides, there are few config tweaks, which make “very-high” look with “high” performance :).
Eagerly waiting, anyway, first game was tons of fun, one of few games which made me play them again immadiately after finishing.
The specs will be about the same as Crysis except A [darn-tooting] YEAR LATER WHEN ALL OF YOU [less wealthy people] SHOULD THEORETICALLY HAVE BETTER COMPUTERS.
[Jiminy].
Stop [talking] about computer specs and spend some [spare] money. Being [frugal] never bought anything that would do the trick properly.
Dear lord, what’s going on lately? Are we going to have to take the hose to everyone?
We should get around to doing an auto-edit function that swaps certain words for our [insertions].
KG
It actually has better performance than the original, DSX. Or so Crytek say. And if you can’t stand the performance at a certain resolution, here’s an idea: drop it.
I wasn’t aware whinging was a naughty flippin word.
PS – Public service announcement: Go see Batman, it’s ace.
So, when this understandably doesn’t sell more than 100K, will Cevat say that the piracy rate is 200 to 1?.
Personally, I’m not buying it. Crysis was pretty but meh, and Crytek gave us the finger when they refused to support it anymore despite the remaining bugs. They’re not getting a cent more from me.
