I'm currently fixed on Obsidian Conflict, the thing with co-op is content, keeping it fresh!

OC has what I consider some revolutionary ideas going on.
From Fishing in oc_umizuri_i, to planting crops, cooking, making gin and feeding your bullchickens on the farm in oc_harvest or cooperating to fire a space cannon at an attacking ship in oc_cannon.
Playable Campaigns: HL1, HL2, Loast Coast, EP1 & EP2
As well as support for CS:S and DOD:S content.

If you want to see the future of co-op, look no further.

Good reason to be biased.

"Gears Of War

Ahead of the curve, as usual, Epic have delivered a shooter that is as refined in its co-op play as it is beautiful in its Unreal-powered visuals. Muscular co-op."

Except for the bug some people (such as myself) got where you can't go beyond the first chapter, because it crashes.

Oh, and I hated the game too, but I only hated the first part, it seems.

I would like add Doom 3 to this list. There are two mods that enable co-op gameplay. These are Last Man Standing and OpenCoop. LMS is SvenCoop style mod and OC is like original Doom co-op. I prefer OC as it's less laggy and has almost unmodified Doom 3 single player levels.

In OC the gameplay is very tense and hectic if you have 3 or 4 (4 is max) players in server. Monsters are tough and you need to work as a team to survive. Nice healthpool feature promotes teamplay even further.

RSV and NOLF2 both had good coop. Really looking forward to L4D. Unfortunatly in the COD4-CS:S-TF2 filled community I game with, I am one of the only ones waiting for it.

Guys, you can't argue that best coop-game ever is "Battle City" for NES. We are still playing it on emulator and have fountain of fun every time!
Tu-tu-tu---tu-tu-tu---tan-tadadadan!

PS Hey! I forgot about "Contra"!!!

You forgot "Hidden & Dangerous 2 Sabre Squadron". I'm still playing this online. Actually, I'm surprised how much co-op activity is still going on with this game. I'd love more co-op games, especially ones with dedicated servers for multiple players.

Co-op Duke Nukem 3D is essentially what got me into online gaming. It's been a long time coming, but it looks like co-op is finally making a comeback.

You could add that Freespace 2 is Freeware. Didn't realize that until I just now had the urge to search for freespacey mod sites.
