Why not comment on the "Angries". They love the recognition after all.

The "we are the future" pro Fallout 3 guys probably deserve a comment as well. They always turn up to stomp on anybody who can still enjoy the originals and doesn't always want to play an fps.

I'm a big fan of this site and the RPS team but I think

The Angries will be out in force and spraying Angry-Venom everywhere, I’ve no doubt.

was a bit unfair.

Please just report on Fallout 3. There's no need to discuss the controversy - if it comes up in the discussion quash it there.

Have you seen UK teeth? Taxes have to go somewhere else.

Fallout 3 will be similar to Oblivion. If you liked Oblivion, you will like Fallout 3. If you didn't, save you money. I'm pretty sure every single person that reads this will buy the game though...

Or, they just hope to make enough money in the first few days in America to offset whatever massive taxes they'll pay in the UK to go towards keeping everyone's teeth clean and kidneys intact.

Was that suitably frothy Americanism?

Is anyone else disturbed by the fact that every screenshot posted here has involved some sort of drum-fed SMG? God, what a turn-off.

Can someone explain to me why the different release dates for different locations persists?

i'm guessing logistics plays a huge part. a simultaneous product rollout in a small geographic location is a difficult process; doing it internationally, with dozens of different rules and agencies and the like to deal with is probably not worth the money it would take to make it happen.

It looks a little less grey than I'd feared. Still a little drab for my tastes, but not to a ghastly extent like some other games.

Still not convinced about the Bloody Mess thing, but then I never chose it anyway, so meh. It'll probably be fun to play with a super-gibbing lunatic for twenty minutes now and then after hours of playing 'properly', I suppose.

It's come around quickly, hasn't it?

Every year the PA guys raise millions of dollars for childrens' hospitals across the country through Child's Play. While I don't *always* find their comics funny, most are at least insightful or creative, Tycho's articles are usually informative or fun to read, and every tenth comic or so has me in stitches.

Plenty of reasons there to look beyond whether PA is funny all the time.

I fear for F3, and I suspect that a lot of folks who are bashing it might feel the same way. Bethesda makes less-than-fun, conservative, and uncreative action RPGs. Since Fallout 1 and 2 were none of the above, I think it's a poor marriage of talent and material.

I'll still buy the damn thing, assuming it's offered via a download service. Less wife-ish questions that way, much easier to slip a newly loaded external drive into the house than a box with manual.

I am fairly sure most of the derogatory comments about NMA are from people who haven't even read any of the complaints put forward, just like to throw in a cheap dig for an easy "lulz". I don't post there, but it was a great source of info on the previous games and the Fallout 2 restoration mod is superb stuff.

I am looking forward to F3, if only to see how it turned out really.. I dislike a lot of the choices they made but not enough to put me off buying it on the off-chance I'll enjoy myself. Even a drop of water is better than nothing in an RPG desert.

There has been confirmation of that, Sombrero Kid? The rating report doesn't specify, other than that it looks like offensive drugs were removed/modified, and I haven't seen any confirmed list of changes anywhere.

Can someone explain to me why the different release dates for different locations persists? It's a bit more understandable with regards to television and movies - ye olde studio dinosaurs and whatnot - but you'd think the net-savvy game industry people would realize they're only shooting themselves in the foot. Feet. You know.
