I know, I know, I gotta stop the pimping. But I’ve been told that there are only a couple of hundred copies of the beautiful hardcover of This Gaming Life remaining, and at this stage there’s no guarantee that there will be another batch printed. If you want to get hold of my book on gaming and gamer culture then now would be a good time.
“This Gaming Life is a fascinating and eye-opening look into the real human impact of gaming culture. Traveling the globe and drawing anecdotes from many walks of life, Rossignol takes us beyond the media hype and into the lives of real people whose lives have been changed by gaming. The results may surprise you.”
—Raph Koster, game designer and author of A Theory of Fun

Americans! Obtain your copy here.
Europeans, try here, or, for a quicker dispatch, the official distributors here.
It’s also available at Oxford St Waterstones in London, and some major US bookstores (probably).

How many has this sold, out of interest?

I just One Click Bought Amazon.co.uk’s last remaining hardcover copy, suckahs.
I also picked up a copy of Anathem by Neal Stephenson and The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, in case I need something to soothe my soul afterwards.
report
Oxford Street eh? Might mosey on down there next time I’m in London.

This just show how stupid print media is. Do you still own the rights to the text? Could you web host the material one day?
report
@Helio: Presumably the paperback will still be in stock for a while yet.
report
Paperback edition not confirmed as yet. Have to wait and see on that one.
report
My copy is waiting for me at my parents’ house. I’ve just got to wait for my next trip home to pick it up.
report
I was putting this on my christmas list so that’s crushing.

books are too feely I’d pay for an electric version as I do intend to read this
report
I’d recommend it, it really is very nicely bound.
The words are pretty good too.
report
Would not selling all of your first run permit the second print issue?
report
got mine two weeks ago from my local bookseller, none of this multinational book warehouse stuff.
Great Stuff Jim a good read between clients at work
report
Good read but found it quite hard to get a hold of, think i was waiting almost a month for my copy
report
It is one of the prettiest books on my shelf currently. And the words contained within those gorgeous covers are worth reading also.
report
Got a copy of it t’other day from amazon. I know it’ll probably take me about a year to read it like most things, but the first 20 pages is goods! Tis a nice looking book too.
report
Just bought mine from Amazon UK, no problems but thanks for the reminder, I would kick myself if I didn’t get this.
report
I should get this!
…later today, when I have my trousers on (where my credit card is.)
report
I’ve checked stores big and small in both New York and California and haven’t found it. I guess it’s time to do it the lazy way.
report
Already picked up a copy of this the other day, despite my utter hatred of hardcover books. That said, I’d definitely purchase a second copy in paperback if one ever comes to light.
report
@Mathew:
Jim Rossignol, the most fun you can have with your trousers on?

report
gah, I hates the hardbacks, but as the possibility of a paperback is in question – I’ve done my bit and ordered it from amazon (yay for prime!)
report
I still want to read that novel about sentient graffiti..
report
Jim, if you’re reading this, I’m having some problems with credit cards at this moment, and neither Amazon nor European Bookstore let me pay via PayPal (which seems like the only thing that’s working for me now). Any suggestions?
report
If you take the ISBN number to a bookshop they’ll be able to order it from Eurospan for you.
ISBN-10: 0472116355
ISBN-13: 978-0472116355
No idea which is the relevant one.
report
Ok, thanks Jim :-) I’ll see what I can do about that.

Lovely, bought’d :D

I’m actually a bit pissed off with the direct euro publishers, they’ve failed to send me a copy for 2 months now, I’m still waiting.
