Massive Update, and Price Promotion ($9.99) on Project Aftermath...

I'm one of the Dev team on PA, just wanted to let you know that we've done a massive update for the game including 20 challenges and a new Tactical Deployment system, giving loads of new fire power! The missions have also been updated to fall in line with the new system.
The promotion is running on www.gamesfaction.com, Steam, StarDock, and GamersGate until the 5th of Jan. Cheers.

@ Switchbreak:

Nah, it's not the sequel to Project Origin, or anything, it's a totally new game. The main guys in Games Faction have done other games before, but this is their first game of this scale, I think.

Dopewars. Aside from buying drugs to trade you can buy trenhcoat upgrades and guns, and it's absolutely a high-score game.

Hm, 1 mission in, massive 1950's rockets running on steam, a genetic resource called GOOP, I'm liking this very much. I can hear what you're saying about sound effects, but I like the game engine, even if resources are difficult to see at the zoomed out max.

@Jim

What's the difference, beyond the name and its place in the HUD? Is it the fact that the score is recorded for posterity and ranked against those of others?

Don't know what game you'd be thinking of then, sorry. :P

No, I mean an *actual* high-score table. Like the ones that grace classic shooters.

(Can anyone think of a game which has a high-score table that allows you to spend your score to increase your skills in the game? The notion rings a bell, but I can’t place where I’ve seen it before.)

Well, every RPG ever, really. They just renamed "score" as "XP".

Regarding spending high score to improve options available in the game, Mercenaries 2 allows you to do that, but I'm not sure that's what you're referring to.
