"ps: sometimes you use “diablo III” and sometimes “diablo 3″ as tags ;)"

That's because on cool websites like RPS, people like this variation. ;)

Lol, take sex for example - all in all, it’s basically the same “game”, yet for some reason people like to play it all the time - they should really get a life finally :-)

That may not be the best example for a gaming website.

"You must be joking. There is many games where you have great gameplay without making all the time the same thing."
I agree. And then there are many games where you have great gameplay even when you basically do the same thing.

"I can understand what Diablo 1 did; carries Gauntlet style to another level. That was good, but Diablo II repeated the same thing."
Diablo II is quite different game than Diablo.

"If you like to play the same game again and again, you must consider get a life."
I miss the point - if there is a awesome and entertaining game, what is the problem when people like to play it? Lol, take sex for example - all in all, it's basically the same "game", yet for some reason people like to play it all the time - they should really get a life finally :-)

"There is people who believes in this media as another kind of art, like films, and I don’t like to see all the time the same film."
Nobody is forcing you to watch the same film over and over. Yet you should know, there are people that like to watch their favorite movies or read their favorite books many times.

"I think videogames need creative developers, and not “clic fest”.
Again, "click fest" - invented by people who haven't really played Diablo/Diablo 2 games much I presume. After all - what action games involving mouse are not "click fests"? .-)

"Why shopuld I play Diablo 3 if I allready played Diablo 1. What is the point to play a repetitive game ad nauseam?"
Well, that's your problem, nobody is forcing you to play Diablo 3 (especially since you haven't played Diablo II, you probably don't care about series much anyway).

"Evolution, guys, evolution, and not brainless games."
Putting aside the fact, that Diablo II definitelly isn't "brainless" game (in fact, it is rather complicated game under its hood - more so than some glorified high-RPG games), the world is not about constant friggin' evolution - you need to stop and improve in a while, not just blindly rush forward to have original creation at all cost.

And as has been said/written many times - Blizzard is not company based on evolution, so you are simply crying at the wrong grave. Expecting Blizzard to create revolutionary existentialist turn-based RPG is just like expecting Will Wright to create hypermodern, minimalistic, hardcore FPS.

Slightly-altered?

The new Wizard is a completely different ball of wax from the Sorceress. For one, they actually practice forbidden magics (the sorceress focused entirely on elemental magics), and secondly, they have fewer spells with a greater variety of effects created by the lovely addition of skill runes (seriously, why didn't they think of this for Diablo 2?). The ability to take a spell and make it chain, or fire multiples, or make enemies explode, or create a lasting effect... that quite literally multiplies the possibilities, and I just can't wait to mess around with it.

And the Witch Docter is indeed only somewhat analogous to the Necromancer. They're considerably less dependent on pets, however. So, again, I don't get where the 'slight-altered-(insert previous class here)' complaint comes from (other than sheer ignorance and hate).

I dunno, why play chess if you already played it? Why have a weekly poker night? Some games are like films, especially those of the disposable linear 10-hour action variety. Others games are like games, and it's mechanics that keep people coming back years after most games of their generation are forgotten and technically obsolete.

"In before the slightly-altered Amazon and slightly-altered Paladin.

Seriously, fuck you Blizzard."

Lack of new classes doesn't much bother me, so long as the gameplay gets some improvements, and so long as my $50 buys a complete game and all 5 classes. Alternatively, I'll gladly pay $10 for a game with one class. Or $17 for Starcraft II.
