This news is spreading rapidly over the net. It seems that the PS3 is good for something other than playing your Blu-Ray discs. News For Gamers have completed the PS3 version of Bioshock, to discover a fifteen second teaser for the second game. It’s apparently called Bioshock 2: The Sea Of Dreams and you’ll find images from it beneath the cut. EDIT: Also, thanks to the comment-threaders, video. Go watch!

Initial impressions: Well, due to the extra few years, people are going to be able to write slash fiction about the Little Sisters without feeling quite as monstrous.

UPDATE: The Video…

Further impressions: Telekinetic sandcastle building is a splendid thing.

Also, if anybody would notice she’s in Europe, seeing as that definitely looks like a sunset and sun rises in the east. Just thought I’d point that out.

Meh. I thought Bioshock was one of the most over-rated games of all time. And, yes, I was a huge fan of SysShock2.

  3. Y3k-Bug says:

I’m interested in this just to see how it plays. I can’t say that I see much potential for a Bioshock sequel thematically; the ending seemed to rap up things quite nicely.

I think you’ll find the sun rises in the east on every continent. So why couldn’t it be, say, Australia, or America? Most continents have a coastline facing west, you know, not just Europe. ;)

oh great, that could have done with an edit button… Let’s try that again:

    *Ahem*

However, Rapture was created in the Atlantic, so either rapture is being rebuilt, or he’s right about the Europe bit

  7. scout says:

Could also be Africa or any island from South Georgia up to Greenland… though I hope the young lady has a coat if the latter is the case.

    Or California

  9. Chemix says:

It looks warm where ever it is, and while Africa might be interesting, I doubt even little sisters would go to the West Africa of the 60s.

As towards California, short of rapture being rebuilt, it would have to be Western Europe or some where along that part of the Atlantic.

Also, we could just be reading into this too much

  10. Colin says:

I think it would be cool to rebuild rapture, although it doesnt make a very good story. I mean if you did that you should just make a prequel.

What if thelittle sisters miss tenebaum and go after her but ask Jack for help ( once again not a very good story line ).

    But anything could happen.

  11. Luis says:

the city will resurface and the final boss in the first game is still alive and madder than ever and new weapon, new big daddy and new DRUGS/POWER I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN A SNEAK PEEK of the new game gameplay

  12. dasd says:

Perhaps Andrew Ryan isnt really dead. I found it strange how he went out so easily like that in bioshock when he is so determined to stop you and Atlas before that. He asks you to hit him over the head. Maybe this was just a lookalike of Andrew Ryan?

  13. lolololol says:

judging by the butterfly i guess that it takes place above ground

  14. crscheid says:

Uh, to the people saying it might occur in a place other than Europe, the West coast of Africa, or the eastern coast of an American continent, did you happen to notice THE HUGE FUCKING SIGN that said “Atlantic Coast”?
