Futhermore you can pretty much expect every PC game to have DRM. Almost every PC game does these days. That is if I am correct in the whole activation key thing.

I'm supposing DRM is the little activation keys you need to type? If so the people at Sierra are idiots. I bought Tribes: Vengance and downloaded it. Then it asked me for actuvation. . . It happened to be on these paper CD jackets that I threw out because I wanted my CDs to have real cases. :\ Anyways I agree with Noc. Besides rather than complaining about DRM or requesting that DRM is mentioned here why not earn some money buy a console and never need to bloody worry about it again?

Oh my God. I laughed when I saw this at the bottom of RPS's page XD

Amount of comments not about piracy: 0.972%

Wow. XD Seriously though lightne up people. Like someone else said. It's called google. You guys don't own the site. If you think DRM should be mentioned and they don't want to mention it. GO AWAY. For God's bloody sake.

For those who are interested, I've made an MP3 of the full version of this song recorded from a YouTube video. Quality is good, as far as my ear can tell.

I couldn't find any Artist or Title better than the video told us, so I've put those in the tags.

I am one of the "silent majority" of gamers that has no problem with DRM. (With the exception of Starforce, which I THINK crippled a couple CD-writers of mine, but I can't be sure that's why they died.) I just got FC2 yesterday on Steam and it's AWESOME.

@ suibhne:

You do not have a "constitutionally protected" right to sell PC games, because you do not own any PC games. Sorry, but that's the truth. If you wanted to purchase the actual GAME, it would run you millions of dollars... just read any news article concerning when one software company buys a game from another company. What you are buying is a EULA, which is simply a contract allowing you to play the game under certain conditions. Those conditions are spelled out in the EULA itself. The actual game belongs to the developer, not you. And if you want to talk about law, the fact is that if you install the game, you "signed" a legally binding agreement to abide by the EULA. It is you who runs the risk of breaking the law when you try to resell a game that you never owned, rather than the developer (who DOES own the game) trying to keep you from reselling it. I know it's weird, but that's how it works. Now go play some FC2... it's great fun! Especially having a keyboard command (h) for digging bullets out of your flesh with a pair of pliers... ROFL!!!

The reason people (or at least people like me, which may just be me ;) ) are frustrated is that game reviewers seem bound and determined to never mention DRM in a review. Alas, this apparently includes even more "progressive", enlightened reviewers like the chaps here. I'd understand this if the DRM in question were totally invisible, as it is with console games, but a 3-computer limit is actually a big deal because it abrogates your right (Constitutionally-derived for those of us State-side) to resell the game on the used market. Personally, I think it's actually news that game publishers, rather than attacking our legal rights in U.S. court where they'd (probably) lose and where case law already leans against them, are seeking to destroy the used market through the backdoor use of DRM.

That said, Far Cry 2's DRM will be fine with me as long as the revoke system works properly, because I seriously doubt I'll be reselling it. I've already pre-ordered the game, and this trailer has my mapmaker friends pretty stoked.

I think this trailer is brilliant, I'm buying the game and to be perfectly honest I couldn't care if I ever read another word about DRM on a games site for the rest of eternity.

Oh, and Noc, regarding the whole DRM is like asking "how much does it cost" etc. That depends really.

If you know from day 1 it includes DRM, then its totally different from cost/availability as they are usually unknown until very close to release date.

(Sorry for the spam)
