Not only did I play Breed but someone actually bought the game in a box and gave it to me as a birthday present. Epic win of a box, epic fail of a game. I guess that's what intrigued me so much about it, you got your vehicles, you got your weapons, you got your whatever the hell you'd want, but still the game is mostly meh... Would make an interesting case study...

And yes, respekta to those who played carrier when it was plunged into the world, I played a few years ago for study purposes mainly. Antaeus Rising was quite better(no, not only visually), and a very respectful spiritual sequel; loved it. The characters really cussed when the shit hit the fan as I remember, hehehe. Nice ballsy touch for that time...

As far as this little teasy weasy goes... gameplay footage would do nicely, until then all I can say is... that chick needs the help of a skilled hair stylist asap...

its a bit galactica-ee at the beginning... but then WHAM. SPLURGE.

"I am a pile of donkey droppings" it seems to whisper.

Anyone here unfortunate enough to play Breed? It reminds me of that.

If it's anything whatsoever like it's predecessor in terms of gameplay, this will consume my life and I'll never see my wife and kids again. I actually don't have any kids, but if I did, I'd never see them again.

A big publisher is remaking one of gaming's all-time classics? it's brought on my very special Game Anticipation Bi-polar disorder - I 'm currently swinging madly between the two polar extremes of utter delight and sheer terror! What if they get it wrong?!? But what if they get it *right*?

Oh god, oh god....breathe.

Fans of the original game may like to have a look at one man's own hand-coded attempt to update the formula for modern PCs:

http://www.gamedev.net/community/forums/mod/journal/journal.asp?jn=472138

I've been following this for a year or two now but the screenies he keeps posting seem to show a fairly advanced state of affairs, much more so than the usual Vapeware. And he's calling for modellers/skinners to help him get it out the door. Any takers?

I'm surprised that this is attracting impractical cleavage ire, when RPGs have been suffering from truly ludicrously insufficient female armour for years. They're doing well just to keep warm, let alone stopping enemy weaponry.

This "least likely cleavage" problem is only going to get worse. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised to see a form-fitting spacesuit with cleavage. "Laws of physics be damned! MORE TITS!"

I lost months to this game on the Amiga - tried the whole terrible ordeal of Amiga emulation again a few months ago just so I could play this (and other aheadoftheirtimer's like Warhead, Sword of Damocles etc).

@LionsPhil - yes, it should be robots! Some sort of plot about a rogue AI carrier that you had to hunt down with your own robots.
Talk about your formative gaming experiences, can't wait to check this out (or for an easier to use Amiga emulator).

I really wish FMV's would never be in stuff like this. Yes, that's nice, you have FMV's. Awesome, you have some computer effects.

Can I see the game now please?

Wait, people? There aren't supposed to be people. The Mantas and Walrii were remote-controlled---that's why there was a range limit as well as a fuel one, and a range-extending radar module.

More to the point, it explains why your factories can churn out replacements and ship them to your carrier, without ever running out of meatbags to pilot them.
