Reader Travers sends word of an intriguing platform game on Kongregate, the aptly named Hunted Forever. (Although I suppose “Forever Hunted” would be a better cadence?) It’s a mixture of N, Another World, with shades of GlaDOS from Portal. You are a tiny, hyper-atheletic silhouette who must collect machine parts and travel across the platformed-landscape at speed. The faster you are, the better you score. The name, however, comes from the fact that you are being constantly observed, chased, and commented upon by some kind of laser-wielding flying saucer creature. Yikes.

Just gave this a quick go and it’s really good fun. Love the robot/hunter/mocker.

That’s actually a lot of fun.

Pretty nice – the animation is top notch – but overall is sluggish – deserved a standalone delivery … or maybe its just badly unoptimized:)
report
Doesn’t quite do the feeling of momentum as well as Fancy Pants and it isn’t as fiendishly addictive as N, but it’s a worthwhile distraction.

Am I the only one that thought of Hunter Hunted while reading this article?

Gotta love the Powerthirst 1 & 2 references in there.
UNACCEPTABLE!

Pretty damn cool.

Saw this on the indie games blog this morning and it made me be late for my lectures. It’s a lot of fun, and some of the animation is great. Another World and N both sprang to mind for me too.
It’s a shame I can’t save my game.

Anyone thought of Shift when they saw this? Absolutely awesome.

I’m stuck inside the walls

The controls are too loose and floaty to be fun. In particular, mantling on the edges of ledges and wall jumping don’t work well enough for a proper flow to work. Disappointing, because the basic concept is decent.

Shades of GlaDOS? More like buckets and buckets of GlaDOS pored over everything to make it cool without actually doing anything new. But yea, it actually is really fun, I just wished they did a little more to make it feel fresher.

It would have been cooler if the saucer-thing had been the one with the sarcastic remarks. Pretty neat anyway, shame it finished just as I was getting the hang of the controls.

I love this, every time I casually mantle over an object midair and hit the ground running I little part of me lights up. Now to get double jump.

The eighth best game of the year according to Time magazine.

All I’m hearing is that it’s a more actiony version of Warning Forever.
I am not very good at listening.
