I'm still a loyal CoH/V player. The game fills a niche no other MMORPG does... it's sort of a "casual" MMORPG.

As long as they continue to deliver new content, I'll continue to subscribe, even while playing Champions.

CoV should have been like Dungeon Keeper, where you get points for offing heros and build your gang of NPC's by setting ambushes etc. That would have been cool.

I'm waiting for the MMO universe that allows multiple client programs of radically different types. Wasn't there a driving game that let you drive around in your sim-city a while back? Eventually someone will come up with a cool multi-faceted MMO like that will produce emergent experiences as yet unconceived.

NC Soft isn't shooting itself in the foot by promoting City of Heroes because Champions isn't being published by NC Soft.

A little offtopic: You mentioned Hinterland, any chance we will get to see some thoughts on that? I need to know if it could be a Majesty substitute.

Mmm. I too have trouble getting excited about CoX any more, even though it remains my fondest of MMOs. Partly it's because I'm all giddy over the prospect of Champions Online, but that just makes me wonder whether or not NCSoft aren't shooting themselves in the foot by continuing to bother supporting CoX so voraciously with Champions just around the corner.

On the PC at least, a significant portion of the market for Champions will come from CoX players. If you continue to impress those people with the improvements made to CoX, you risk dividing your market between the two games, such as happened with Everquest and Lineage, where half of the audience are stuffy conservatives who want everything to remain as it was, and the other half beret-wearing excitables who can't sit still for half an hour without demanding something new and interesting. Er, me, basically.

Sometimes I wish I never stopped playing this, but after 9months of more or less the same thing you know you have gone as far as you can go. However, I do think COH should be on everybodies "must play" lists.
