I urge you to release level packs for GR+++ in the future! There is ALWAYS room for more psychadelia. Which also reminds me, get the PC-levels of Space Giraffe on to 360 for great justice :3

1) SG on 360 was crap due to the pshychedelic effects, i dont care if he and another 4 ppl liked navigating through sound clues. The market punished it as the unplayable game it is.
2) this guy is a furry.
3) this game will own.

@shinygerbil: I believe the order number is indeed incremental. Mine was #67 back in December. Mr. Yak surely deserves a whole herd of sheepies buying his game - it's brilliant!

"Despite being a Pocket-PC-Port, Gridrunner++ was one of my favourite shooters of this decade...."
Actually, even though GR++ was planned to come out on Pocket-PCs, it was released on PC first, followed by Mac and a mobile phone version. No actual Pocket-PC version ever saw light of day. :-]

@dan: Try the demo of the PC version of Space Giraffe and there's two versions on there; Acid Mix is what the Xbox 360 version is like, Nuxx is the more chilled visuals version, similar to how the new Gridrunner will look.
Bear in mind that the Neon backgrounds in SG and GR react to the music played, so if you want even calmer visuals, turn all music input off. ;-)

Space Giraffe (xbox 360 version) became visually crazy-mental, by design. Idea was to navigate the levels using audio cues as much as visual. Some got it and loved it. Think of the Jedi training for Luke with the blast shield down on his helmet. Thats it right there.

Waitasec, he's toned down the psychedelic backdrops? Just how mental was Space Giraffe?

Llamasoft, please bring your games to Steam! Or, categorically deny they'll ever appear there. It'll stop me holding off buying them now in the anticipation of future annoyance.

Great piece. Seriously looking forward to this. I was quizzing Yak about the "Sheepie Save" from GR++ in his LJ entry about the interview, and the new version of it sounds sweet.

It didn't occur to me that this wasn't just a tidy up of ++, so this interview has promoted it into a "must buy". Back in the day (so to speak), I think Gridrunner++ was the first game I ever bought through digital distribution, all because of that PCGUK review. I had a grand old time with that.
