Muzman: Interesting ‘hip techno duo’ photography.

Yeah, it's like they escaped from the dance pages of NME circa 1994 or something. Personally, I'm looking forward to the Penumbra remix EP out next month on JBO with remixes by Underworld, Orbital, Leftfield and the Dust Brorthers.

Sidebar: Interesting 'hip techno duo' photography. That an RPS style-zag or is it fairly common in mags these days?

(I like the sound of these dudes and their games. They name checked Thief once, so they could be satan himself and I'd probably let them off. Always meant to get the games, and now I'm all Steamed up I should get to it I guess.)

Dreamhacker - They're not making the details public, so far as I've seen, but last year we spoke to Tom Jubert, the lead writer on the Penumbra games, and he briefly mentioned the spat. The interview's here:

I bought Penumbra: Black Plague last year and really enjoyed it. There were some very thoughtful puzzle designs and extremely memorable moments. I look forward to seeing what they do next.

Now that I think about it, this level of interactivity reminds me of Jurassic Park: Trespasser. Whenever, I play Crysis or Far Cry 2 (well, not FC2 that much) and the player's arm goes into rampart grab mode, I can't help think of JP:Trespasser's arm. Are games finally catching up with JP:Trespasser's vision?

(please don't mention the VR hype - lol!) ;)

Awesome stuff. Frictional were one of the first studios I interviewed and started to get attention when I first started to get serious about journalism, so I love that they're going from strength to strength!

Excellent work on Penumbra: Overture (the only game of y'alls I have enjoyed thus far). I thought it was a well done horror game that led me to think and plan more than go all twitch killy. I like thinking, and appreciate the game. I had been holding off on getting the other two (or one + puzzler as the case turned out to be) and may go ahead and make the plunge. If only I hadn't bought 3 games already this month...

Thank you for continuing to move two of my favorite genres (hehe) in horror and adventure forward. Keep up the great work!
