Trailer's looking great btw. I didn't watch the interview part but I assume it's a 4 player co-op title? Sweet as hell.

Also, to those claiming people can't enjoy simple fun anymore, I'd say that wasn't the problem with the original Lost Planet. It simply was a deeply flawed game. Hopefully, it's fixed up here, I can certainly go for an all out action title if it's fun.

The likes of Painkiller which I greatly enjoyed certainly don't have any higher purpose than the original Lost Planet did, but the execution is so much better and more fun. Besides I'd get most here dabble with a shmup or two at times, a 3D TPS would hardly be too shallow for them.

Cry Engine (well, the latest version) sure doesn't run on low spec machines, not anywhere near acceptable looks vs performance standards at least. Didn't run on my P4 with X800 XL at least, not without reducing visuals to a barren, blurry mess with pop-in every few feet. Runs fine on my newer setup though. Then again, I guess that many elitists will consider a core 2 duo 3.16 with 4GB ram and a GTX 285 low spec... Oh well, couldn't afford anything better at the time.

"a lush tropical jungle has grown from what was once a barren ice world"

Well, if I remember the first game correctly, it was implied the tropical jungle had been there first and then the planet had been suddenly frozen at some point. In the end sequence when they melted an area plants were already present under the ice.

That actually looks very nice. Good visuals and some nice features (fold out shield and uber-mech).

The first was fairly entertaining as a mindless arcade shooter. It was full of Bugs, too, which was fun.

Hopefully the frosty reception you folks are giving it won't mean the sequel gets put on ice.

Quite a terrible game, that.

But I still finished it, purely because its graphics is so nice and I am graphics whore.

Go hire a new narrator. And a script writer, too while they're at it.

I was hoping that it WOULD play like an old Capcom arcade shooter but it DIDN'T.
-Everything takes about half a minute of holding down the fire button to kill
-There are only about 4 enemies and the whole game is Halo-style... seal the exits, spawn wave after wave after wave of the same shit, go to next room, repeat.
-Everytime you get hit your stupid guy flops to the ground. And in pure Japanese Game fashion by the time he stands himself up he's already back down on the floor. It's fun wrestling with that for thirty minutes.

Lost Planet was so middle of the road it makes lines obsolete! or some other way to end that sentence.
