to peter there is a single player mode just go to play with friends and switch it to private game if you don’t want someone joining and then start or you could switch it to sytem link and then you can do all the single player you want or two players if you have a friend over also if you have a friend over you can do versus with each other or just set up a dummy characther thats not playing but has the controoler on and move them out of the safe area of the start of each maps and you can have some fun practicing as zombies or going thru without worrying about specials

This is very good because “smokers can’t get you. Plus infected are easy to kill in narrow door way. Tanks can be a problem so focus all on them. Since they single people out just spread out (1 in ea corner) and fire away. Gl and message me (Pro US Sniper) on xbox360 xboxlive to play with me. Have Some Fun!

70 minutes on Last Stand. But… that was before they fixed the “after 10 tanks, no more tanks come” thing.

I think I’ve been home-runned off the to top of Mercy hospital at least a half-dozen times now. Maybe I need to stick to the middle of the map a little more…

Yeah it seems like some levels are much more difficult than others. I was playing for about an hour last night without even getting a measly bronze on the lighthouse level until I found a different group of randoms and got a 12 minuter on the terminal for my first gold. With the same group, we got a silver on the church.

Very easily. It’s shallow, repetitive, and drags on far too long. But my point was about the survival mode and its relation to zombie fiction, not about Left4Dead’s shortcomings, hence why I attempted not to get into that here. :)

Really liking survival mode so far, like others have said it’s a lot easier to find a couple of minutes to play rather than put aside a couple of hours.
Only managed two golds so far (along with 2 silver and about half the bronzes), around 15 minutes on The Terminal and 11 on The Farmhouse, both with shinygerbil.
Terminal definitely needs some improvement, though I did manage to last 12 minutes with plenty of tanks and specials coming in.

I am not enjoying it as much as vs so far as i tend to die protecting other early on then have to hang about for ten minutes.
