@ Erlam
Yeah, I get that.... I just cant get over the guy's head and voice though. You could dress him in latex and give him an egg beater and he'd still be lack-lustre.

But he's not even boring in a particularly boring way, which would be kinda cool, like a master assassin, or Keyser Söze - he's just.... boring!

Why yes this 5 minute trailer is more than enough to understand everything that will happen in a twenty hour game. Dude!

None of the other trailers have anything other than similar looking combat and cutscenes. No feature bulletpoint has made any mention of anything besides combat and cutscene "choices." Every impression is of a set of cutscenes interspersed with a combat mission. Looks like yet another console action RPG-lite to me. If they had any spy gameplay, then why wouldn't they show it?

I look at good animation as a bonus, not a necessity. It doesn't spoil my enjoyment of a game, or particularly enhance it.

This looks like what I wanted Splinter Cell to be.

Reply to Ceasarbear
Why yes this 5 minute trailer is more than enough to understand everything that will happen in a twenty hour game. Dude!

Only just noticed you can change the guys clothes. Here's hoping for some Hitman style disguises and a "I'm with Stupid" t-shirt when you meet the president.
Yes it's a spy game set in America with a Global Conspiracy and talk about patriots. You are going to meet the president and probably shoot him.

Either him or the pope. Personally I'm for some pope action shot gunning.

I'm disappointed that we can't play dress-up and choose-your-gun with a Michelle Thorton instead. Female Shepherds clearly sell.

Other then that, looks good. It will likely run decently as well since the unreal 3 engine is very nice about that sort of thing.

Stop looking for this game's influences among games! Alpha Protocol seems to me to be first and foremost the clichéd offspring of Bond and Bourne (yeah, they'd have one ugly kid, but I meant spiritually). Let's just hope cheesy spy action is more fun to play than watch. . .

But, Caesar, there's nothing wrong with a scifi shooter [looks sad, hugs Stalker]

I just can't find anything interesting about this RPG. I don't see the story interaction other than fight this scenario with stealth or guns. In the end it's still just combat sequences strung together with talky cutscenes. There's no spy work at all. Nothing to actually solve. Might as well be a sci-fi shooter.

"I guess walking up to the guard with a skin tight ninja latex suit on would probably give you a away"

I actually like that he looks like a normal dude. Want to know how to get spotted in a crowd? Wear fatigues, combat boots, armoured vest, etc etc etc.

Spies try to, you know, blend in. By looking like people, not spies.

What shocks me is how the "stasi" chicks flamboyancy is met and exceeded by the main characters utter, screaming BANALITY!

Michael Thornton. Mike. Good to look and sound boring if you are a spy... I guess.

Maybe I've been spoiled by suave tuxedo wearing Daniel Craigs, stealthsuited, craggy-faced Sam Fishers and ninjas with shock white hair. I just expect this guy will be dressing in beige slacks, not to look like a civilian, but simply because if he was dressed by his mum it would probably make him more edgy.

Let's not ignore his voice either. I mean I don't want him grating out his lines like the English language version of Rikimaru does, but c'mon!

Those goggles are awsome, the screen shot calls them Panoramic goggles. not only giving you night vision but a wider FOV, what more could you want?
