Yay! This first surfaced over on Tigsource and is clearly splendid, and on more than the much-discussed Good-Name=RPS Coverage grounds. We’ve talked about No Quarter as part of our Unknown Pleasures 2009, the Edmund McMillen/Alex Austin Cryptic Sea project of six games. This was what they were called GUN then. Now it’s called Hitlers Must Die! This is what we call progress. For surely, if the RPS readers can agree on anything, it’s on the idea that if presented with many Hitlers, offing the lot of them would be the thing to do. The above screen’s from the Hitler Must Die intro rather than the Beta footage. Its physics-heavy Hitler-annihilating action is found nestling below…
It really is somewhat nifty.
As I crawled to the computer, wiping sleep from my eyes, this was forwarded to me by Poisoned Sponge. Though you don’t get thanked above the cut for forwarding me a link to somewhere I’d look at every day anyway, but you do get mentioned here, out of a sense of honesty, decency and fair play. Yes.

I dunno A Dead Eldar Guardian, I guess that depends on who you ask. I have a friend that loves Hitler and wishs he would have won . . . but I suspect that is not the majority when it comes to opinions about him.
I pitty the man more than anything for his insanity and jealous wrath against Jews ect. also kinda happy he was slightly insane because allies would have had a much harder time if he weren’t. Hoding back Tigers that may have turned the tide of war, attacking Russia for no good reason O.o ect.

On topic: This looks satisfyingly vicious for a 2d platformer and if the jumping feels a little weightier than Meatboy this could be the best indie since Sperlunky.

Looks like a 2D cross between Stranglehold and Max Payne, but with physics. Love it. Doubt I’ll be able to do it as coolly (?) as that guy but it’s great to watch.

First thing I thought upon reading this is “Lemmings in reverse.” I was a bit disappointed to see it is pretty much a standard platformer (although it looks pretty decent).
Imagine it: a game where a bunch of Hitlers spawn, walking toward freedom. You must place traps and deform the terrain such that none of them make it to safety. I contend that this game must be made.

I want to remind all of you that I ranted on the Wolfenstein intro cinematic threat how frustrated I was that WW2 games never let you kill Hitler anymore. (Not even the flipping Wolf3D RPG mobile phone game!!!) This new isn’t exactly what I had in mind, but beggars can’t be choosers.

Looks pretty nice, but I’m sure I’d hate playing it. It’s probably one of those games where a single minute error can cause a death.. which means that you get to play a level over.. and over.. and over.. and over again. Hopefully getting closer and closer to the end.. providing you don’t slip up.

I absolutely adore it. The concept, the blockiness, the fake Russian writing.
And frankly, everyone likes shooting Germans. Everyone LOVES shooting Hitlers. The only issue is that there are so few of them. This game solves that problem.
