@ascagnel

The Morrowind Grpahics Extender adds Oblivion style distant land to the game, and the various texture packs do a fantastic job on the textures ingame.

It's fairly impressive stuff: http://s73.photobucket.com/albums/i201/Vality7/mge/MGEScreen01.jpg

I recommend http://morrowind2009.wordpress.com/ if you want a comprehensive list of graphical improvements you can make to the game.

I never realized how ridiculously situated that fort was until you pointed it out. I feel stupid and enlightened.

I keep rememberin' stuff...Serondal bringing up the open-ended directions reminded me of how much I hated the in-game map in Morrowind. Not being able to zoom in on areas was just awful. And I never could find a fix for increasing text size when cranking up the resolution. At some point all the text in the game becomes completely illegible.

And did anyone else ever notice that shopkeepers immediately put on your armor when you sell it? I remember the first armor I traded in was the assasin's armor I got after a brutal battle. When I exited the shop menus and saw a fully decked-out assassin in front of me, I honestly had heart palpitations!

You don't seem to understand the extent of graphical overhaul that's possible with the volume of mods Alec's using.

I know this is a minor gripe, but the screenshots make Morrowind look so much better than it really does. The first one kind of clued me into it. There's no way the game was that high-res and sharp when I played it, and most texture packs wouldn't up it THAT much.

I'm rather enjoying the diary, but the game doesn't seem to come off very well from it. Which is perhaps fair.

I don’t mind quick travel but I think it should have some kind of negative side effect

It does. It costs money, and moreover, it denies you opportunities to practice skills and find new items.

Ah yes, one of the many little annoyances of Morrowind - the shopkeepers' magical ability to know you have drugs on your person and, instead of simply refusing to buy the drugs like a reasonable person, actually refusing to allow you to shop at all. Much like the guards' magical ability to instantly identify and remove all of your stolen property the moment they arrest you.

I could've sworn the game's meant to put a bounty on your head if you try to sell someones stolen property back to them.
