Don't think I could play this. The voice acting reminds me of Limbo of the Lost.

I've had a look at Trine. It's goodie gum drops, but only as far as the action and physics-play is concerned. The story is pretty thin, but the graphics are the prettiest I've seen in any simplistic side-scrolling game ever. So all in all, entertaining.

It looks very nice.

That's all I can say. The combat is overly simplistic, and lacks any kind of oomph whatsoever - partly because there is as good as no sound, and what's there is way too quiet, even if you turn the effects volume up.

According to demo it's pretty horrible. First of all, there was no sign about how the three-character gameplay would work, as it is it was like a diablo-lite i.e. poorly done hacking and slashing with lite rpg elements. The voice acting was by far the most horrible in a very long time. And it didn't have invert-y axis!!! Shameful!

@kobzon

I feel I must fulfil my role of ancient and crusty minister of culture here and ask you; have you ever heard of Asterix & Obelix? That was borne of French imagination I admit, but that should have just stayed with the French kids and never should have been translated for the audiences of any other ntion, right?

The thought of a youth without Asterix makes me sad inside, as does the thought of a future where kids are never introduced to anything that wasn't produced strictly in Japan, America, or Britain. (Though British people will still complain about the Americans and the Japanese despite enjoying their output in regards to the entertainment and technology industries.)

It means that all those cartoons I watched as a kid, be they French, German, Russian, or even French-Japanese collaborations, would never have existed. Ulysses 31 I'd never have seen, nor Mysterious Cities of Gold, Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds, or Willy Fog.

In fact, I wholeheartedly support the contrary; have you ever seen the comics that come out of non-English speaking European countries, the cartoons, the films? Have you watched Daywatch? There's some incredible stuff going on there and it's made me wish I were multilingual, or that European efforts were being as readily translated today as when I were a spod.

This is popular with Russian kids, so they shouldn't introduce it to the youths of the rest of the World? Poppycock! If it gets a good translation then I'd let the kids around 'ere play it on my computer, and they'd probably love every minute of it. With a good enough translation, something like this might even become their Asterix.

I'll wrap this up by pointing something out...

Remember I had a bit of a rant a while back where I went on about faux-patriotic British people alienating the rest of the World by making them out to be inferior and being generally anti- to anything or anyone not British? See the post I'm replying to? Yeah.

I can't help but feel a little exasperated, because I see it everywhere I go, I don't know why anyone even bothers to deny this kind of thing any more. And it's getting more and more difficult for me to convince my non-British friends that these people aren't really representative of Britain.

But they are, aren't they? :/

And I find myself strongly not wanting to be British any more.

Ok, I myself speak with an accent... but the guy who narrates these videos needs to be gagged. I ended up having to turn off the sound in order to watch them.

It's not bad for a kids game. Harmless and easy, a nice introduction to the genre. It is also an attempt to capitalise on the popularity of a cartoon series about the same characters. Well, at least it's popular with Russian kids, so no idea why they've decided to release it elsewhere.

Hah - game works for me - is it because I'm using... VISTA? :-D

Anyways - the game isn't as nice as it sounded in theory. It seems to be quite buggy, some of the animations are laughable, the voice-acting is bad, combat feels chaotic and detached because everything clips through everything, despite a theoretically nice physics engine most things seem to be indestructible and glued to the ground etc.

All in all I think the only thing Three Heroes has going for it is the graphical style which is indeed quite nice.

I surely won't buy the full version.

Good to hear, those things started off cringe worthy and have only gotten worse.
