Knight Of The Living Dead

By Jim Rossignol on September 11th, 2009 at 8:14 am.

We’re suckers for a good bad pun, and today Knight Of The Living Dead fits the bill. It’s Sir Galahad, of the Holy Grail fame, versus zombies, hence: Knight Of The Living Dead. You slay zombies and level up, getting some divine inspiration in the form of various power-ups as you go. Annoyingly the game requires .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 3.1, and it’s not really worth going to the trouble of installing those if you don’t already have them in place. Boo.

It works, I made the effort to download it. It actually enjoyed the hell out of it for a few minutes!

  3. Jayt says:

I might add if you just download the game installer, it automatically installs everything it needs (including .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 3.1) so no additional installation is required.

Well. I actually do well enough to land a spot on the All-time best score list (on my third run, I might add) and instead the spot goes to some fellow named “Zindara” due to a character limit I wasn’t informed about.

    Irksome!

  5. FP says:

FWIW Net 3.5 SP1 is distributed via Windows Update so 99% people will just need the XNA installer.

Hmm I installed both .NET and XNA frameworks and the game just crashes when running it with send/don’t send. I don’t know what’s wrong

Bah! Everyone knows premodern zombies were ineffective biters due to poor dental hygiene. Remember, kids, fluoridated drinking water makes zombies many times more effective killers!

Got rank 25 on my first try :P not bad (unless there are only 25 people who have ever played it lol)

I can’t understand why microsoft sucks at distributing their technologies. And the names sucks too: what in the hell “.NET Framework 3.5 SP1″ and “Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 3.1″ means?? I just want to play!!!!!!!!

  20. Hi all! Justin here from Pistachio. Sorry to all the folks having problems (or just angry) with the frameworks. We’re not a big fan of the process either.

As for those 3 minute times … if you haven’t yet, try watching the speed run video in our media section. The biggest tip I think is to jack up Devotion early on until the first Titan wave, at which point you should build up some other stats to take him down quickly. In general, killing the Enders with reckless abandon is a must.

Also, we just added sortable stats on our site, so please come check it out! Thanks to everyone for playing, or attempting to play. :)
