Italian indies Flowfase have released a demo of their ambient puzzle game, Particle. It seems to lack any kind of instructions, but from what I can see you are a tiny particle that is able to collect the colour of other particles and use them to set off triggers across each level. Set off all triggers and you’re able to move to the next arena. It’s all very simplistic, but the puzzles do actually require some examination to get through, and it’s remarkably trippy, at least in my pre-tea just-woke-up state of early morning blogging. Go take a look.

Did screw up, or is this only three puzzles long? The third puzzle being in quotes of course. I’ll say it is quite trippy. At the end of the second puzzle I caught myself staring at the screen for a lost amount of time. I will say that controlling your particle with the mouse alone was a lot trickier than I thought it’d be.

It’s just a demo, so I’d say three puzzles.

Oh right, a demo. That’d explain things.

Awww, no need to amend the title for me. I was half asleep at the time of playing the game/posting! I swear!

Just ran through that. Quite nice – I think the lack of instructions is intentional? I don’t know. If it isn’t, it should be, because learning how to use the controls is lovely.

With refined presentation, may be better.

It’s a trip. A good one.

Nice idea but a BIT too obtuse at first and that 3rd level is just ‘whoa’…

I find it funny how the third level essentially finishes itself for you, you can just sit back and enjoy the show :D
I really like the ambient feeling of it, too bad it’s so short.

Can anybody help me, I can’t get how to play it? I get 2 blue streams flowing and there is blue particle. I catch it, change to blue, another blue particle appear, but nothing happen.
