Balloon travel and “an exploration game set in a dream-like open world” mean that I was immediately intrigued by the announcement of Neverending Islands by Solipsism Studios. A promise of being able to “travel the world in a hot air balloon that reacts realistically to the environment” concerns me a little, but when you thrown in the flying turtle city, well, it means I’m definitely going to take a look when the game comes out later this year. Fully expecting this to be another broken obscurity, but you never know… (Thanks, Blues.)

Someone get hold of Pratchett quickly! All we need now is elephants….
report
This begs the question: where are the elephants?
report
Left behind, on the ground.

ground? It’s elephants all the way down you fool!

On a related note, his latest Discworld book was just released.
report
reminds me of Terry Pratchett!
report
Wait, what?
report
Too small to be A’tuin.
Too big to be Gamera.
What we got here is a deep philosophical dilemma.
Which can be solved by Zeppelins, as usual.

“Look closely the special effects are quite expensive”
As an American who stumbled on Terry Pratchett its a lonely fan club. But it overjoys me to be here with others who appreciate it. My wife said she read somewhere that before Harry Potter these Pratchett books were popular reading with British kids. Ive read both and Harry Potter is inferior in almost every way. The only flaw i run into with Pratchett is that in listening to it in audio book form is that transitions are very poor. Locations and characters are constantly changing based only on a couple of words. The narrator doesn’t even pause. Its very hard to flesh the story out in your mind.

looks awesome to me!

They need to get rid of the grey fog, though.

Zaratan! Dilemma resolved.
Also, THIS IS NOT A HOT AIR BALLOON SIR. It is A COLLECTION OF SMALL GAS BALLOONS. Good DAY, Sir.

Windows 7 comes with a wallpaper of a flying magic turtle with a town on its back.
report
Wouldn’t want to be on the ground when the turtle “moves”!
report
I have an eerie feeling the giant turtle isn't flying, he's jumping. O.o
Notice the little town on his back is made of seashells and even has a starfish. It's an underwater city! Does that mean that my zeppelin can also be a zeppesub? Or is that a subbelin?
report
Airsub.

While it may be true, from my experience the majority of his books aren't written for kids, rather for adults, who would better "get" and appreciate the jokes/references through out the stories.
He's a master storyteller and thankfully popular here in Australia, ensuring his books can be picked up at most retailers.
Oh, but in regards to the actual OP, can anyone say poor rip off.

Of?
