And Boom: Demolition City 2

By Jim Rossignol on October 12th, 2009 at 3:41 pm.

NoOOoo. I’m going to sit here and play this one through to completion too, aren’t I? Hey, there’s even a level editor this time, putting me at risk of user-made levels. Demolition City 2 also throws in some kind of money system, new dynamite types, a map to chart your progression through various historical demolition zones, and features also has the same peculiarly hypnotic music. Sadly it lacks the EXPLOSION! graphic of the original game, and can therefore been seen as an over-ambitious sequel that forgot its roots. Or something.

Totally worthy of being a paid downloadable game. Thankfully though, it isn’t.

I don’t know if it’s a good or a bad thing that most of the levels can be solved best using only the most basic dynamite. It takes the fun out of the cooler explosives. But it’s fun seeing how just tiny little holes in a structure can cause a complete, controlled collapse.

You CAN use the most basic dynamite to bring down the buildings, yes. But it is much more fun to load up on the 5 packs and blow the building clear off the screen. :) Unless there are windows near.

*#&$(@…… I stayed up until 3 AM playing this game and I had to be at work at 8AM. *sigh*

Stupid statues, hydrants, golden dragons, and space cars!!!

It does seem to me the best way to go is just to use 1 dynamites all over the building and then a few strong ones in the middle or something. I'm not very good at destroying buildings without destroying everything around them too though :P This is yet another game where my wife is better than me lol

Much improvement over the first game in my opinion. The graphics are better, the goals more clear, it’s just an upgrade over the first all around.
