yes but captain jack sparrow was a funny and likable character, well written and played by an exceptionally good actor. whereas a big daddy is a massive moaning behemoth. i dont think we are going to get the same type of experience.

1984? i rather think not. unless your only referring to the fact they are both set in dystopia. pacing in and themes are entirely different from what i can see.

I always got the feeling Fontaine wanted to use Rapture as the hub of his criminal empire. I imagine it would be hard to arrange extradition of a ruler from his soverign state at the bottom of the ocean. A state that happens to include nuclear weapons.

Ryan burnt down his forest to stop the government taking it off him. So apply that concept to Rapture,

Having watched that trailer, that woman's voice and the stuff she's saying is really lame. That's the omnipresent voice of your nemesis? Yawn.

The trailers for original Bioshock focused on gameplay choices and consequences. For these trailers it seems they have given the edit suite keys to Michael Bay (whom I love btw) and he's gone all "KAPLAW, BOOOM, KRAKKA KRAAKA SHOOM!" which isn't what Bioshock should be about. Pity.

Too much shooty shooty, not enough creepy creepy scary stuff.

One of the reasons I liked Bioshock, was because it could be hauntingly quiet and forbidding. The atmosphere was ladled on in bucketloads, and it was brilliant for that. This just looks like a normal shooter, in a fairly unusual setting. And it's a shame, as I don't want a gung-ho balls out blaster of an FPS in the Bioshock universe. I want more creeping through the cold dark lifeless watery depths, the crushing pressure making the whole city creak and groan ominously as I clomp through the sections in an achingly slow Big Daddy suit.

Well, ideally, I'd prefer to play without the safety of a Big Daddy suit. I want to be shit scared when I hear the insane laughter and metallic skittering of Splicers in the distance...

Well every example on that list was in other things long before Condemned. The one thing I will say was very similar was the "One two punch" of shock-thwak.

Though bizarrely it missed out the living manikins in both games and the fact they both play grandma's foot steps with you.
