Erm, sorry you don’t like warhead, but I’m loving it… it runs fine (and looks amazing) on my two / half year old PC… and it’s fantastic fun.. no, it hasn’t got a great story, but it’s all about the environment and the combat. Oh, and the alien fights are as fun as the Korean fights this time too… best £4 I ever spent..

There are material extras in the box, although most of the stuff that -can- be electronically replicated has been, I believe. It’s why I was holding out for a boxed copy, until this sale came along. Boxed copy’s never gone anywhere near $20, to my annoyance.

is it worth paying 5 quid more for a boxed copy of the witcher enhanced?
I notice its got quite a few extras (soundtracks, short stories), are these ‘material’ goods or on the DVD? ( in which case i’ll just get the download.. )

Well it was on sale. £20 a copy with the 4-pack deal. I’ve already gotten my money’s worth in 1 weekend, though my eyes are protesting at the abuse they’ve suffered over the last 48 hours.

The Vampire fan-patches go from strength to strength. They’re also finding more and more lost/cut content in the game data files that they’re gradually re-implementing. A lot of spoken lines never got used, along other things.

If you don’t want any of that stuff, if offers you the option at installation to just be a ‘purist’ patch that only fixes things, or the full deal which improves balance and restores content.

But stronger sales will show publishers (Activision, Valve) that there is a market for this type of game, increasing the chances that they will support a similar game in the future, and maybe make the people who worked on the game more interesting to dev studios.

That didn’t stop me from preordering it.

Now on playthrough 2 with Mordecai… I didn’t enjoy the early game nearly as much with other characters, though Lilith is close.

$10 is a good price for the vanilla game. I was really disappointed with EIC, but it’s got personality and is good for a few hours of entertainment. Just don’t expect Patrician III or anything.
