@Luckylad as someone who has lived in both the UK and Texas, I can pretty much guarantee that you wouldn't recognise what Jim is about to eat as fajitas.
Mexican food is pretty new to the UK, back in 2000 we had to go to ethnic food stores to find flour tortillas, corn tortillas did not exist. Now, the various ingredients are fairly universal, but they are all sold by the terrible mass market brands. Think Doritos salsa, and Old El Paso dinner kits.

Still, it's hardly our fault, there are a vanishingly small number of Mexicans in the UK. Western food in Japan is equally hilarious.

On a related note, I've found that if you're trying to become good at the game, there's no way around it; you have to grind.

You have to play over and over again until your skill levels are high enough that you can reliably fight the big guys. That's what I did and I've gotten to the point where I generally win about as much as I lose.

Oh, and don't play Space Marines because they are not the noob-friendly race.

If you haven't already, play the campaign co-op on one of the higher difficulty levels. It becomes a tonne more fun, and control of two squads each is just right when you're dealing with something like Captain or Primarch difficulty.

As for the multiplayer, A word of warning: They've sorted out most of the balance issues by now, but your main issue is just finding it difficult as a starter. The matchmaking system is a bit bizarre in that when you're starting off, it matches you up against some mid and high-range opponents in order to discern your skill level, and that can happen for quite a few games. This was ideally supposed to prevent people on smurf accounts (People that start brand new accounts just so they can go around beating the tar out of new people), but it can be a bit aggravating when you're just starting off.

I bought DoW II when it was cheap on steam, and I didn't regret it one minute. It is fast and furious fun. I was pretty sure that once the campaign was finished it wouldn't offer much more to me, but once again I was positively surprised by the game. I finished the campaign around day 40, and I still could continue to play the game where I left off, some new items were introduced and I had the impression that the difficulty went up a notch. I am now at day 50, and I finally created a windows live account so that I can test the multiplayer stuff when the single player campaign no longer offers fun, which I have yet to experience. Actually, the windows live stuff is the worst part of my game experience, everything else is above my expectations. It's not very complex, but what it aims to do it does well.

I have trouble with the "Men in ridiculously big suits of apparently heavy armor with especially big shoulder pads" thing. I know it's in StarCraft, too, but it just seems so juvenile.

Aye, both those games were excellent. CG I never ever finished, that along with Spacehulk2 broke in the transition from win95 to XP and I never completed them.

CG has its fixes (it works with win7 in the 95 compatability mode and after a quick file edit) I just need the time to play it. The old epic40k game (from strategy first or ssi?) was excellent, I remember the amazingly meaty sounds from the ork gargant belly gun - that game in a modern engine would be the business.

Lagmint not all Chaos marines are old most are newer recruits either from slaves or recent fallen/traitor marines assimilated into the chaos warband.

Also Space Marines can live to a very long life too in fact theres one hero unit in the Ultramarines who was still alive during the Horus Heresy but I cant recall his name.
