Technically… no, Indy did not save Hitler’s life, because he was still in disguise when they got to the island and thus had no barring on the test site, but he did help the Nazis find the Ark of the Covenant.

On Indy 4: A major focus of the previous entries in the Jones series was a lack of technology as a plot driver. Everything maintained a very basic feel to it; the closest it coming to using technology for plot was the vehicles (IE the tanks, trucks, cars, airplanes, etc. etc.) which were all very real. They also used a lot of practical effects (some of which you can see the flaws of when you watch them on TV), versus the over use of digital effects for this film. The jungle chase didn’t feel gritty or pulp-like because it actually didn’t have those elements, it was a green screen and obviously so (like in the SW prequels, and was anyone else bothered by the hold inlays at Padme’s apartment looking like hunks of cheap plastic?)

I’m also one of the people who vastly preferred Lego Star Wars II to the first title; the latter was fun, but the first was fun + nostalgia. I definitely didn’t think that the OT game was any worse in terms of gameplay.

I really meant “new story addition” rather than “new gameplay addition.” The point was that I thought it was funny (if understandable) that a game that primarily exists to incorporate the new movie into Lego Indy wasn’t using the new movie to advertise the game.

Uh Vinraith they sole additon over the origonal game isn’t just the new movie. They are also redoing the first 3 movies totally (They stated they aren’t going to reuse ANY content from the first game)

This does actually remind me of something that’s always bothered by about the Indiana Jones films. In all of them (even the new one) bar Temple of Doom Indy is totally superfluous, he ends up getting captured and watching helplessly on as the villains… end up killing themselves.

I mean seriously, if he’d just stayed at home and actually taught some classes they guys would have shot themselves in the foot anyway, possibly even sooner than they did in the films.

Raiders is of course the absolute worst for this, because they only decide to open the chest themselves after Indy interferes, beforehand they were planning (I hazily recall) to take it back to Germany and present it to Hitler. Nice work Indy, really, good saving Hitler’s life there hero.

I much preferred the second (ie: original trilogy) Lego Star Wars game. The first one had only a smattering of the humour that made them so great, they cranked it up significantly for the second.
