Whatever the historical/geographical reasons there is still a divide between European countries with average per capita GDP >$40,000 and others with <$20,000 which continues to shape economic migration. This means that in the UK for example saying "Eastern European" is a usually a shorthand for everyone from Baltic States, through Poland, Czech, Balkans, Russians, the Caucasus (but not Greece or Cyprus). In many conversations the 'rationale' for distinguishing between 'central', 'eastern', 'northern/baltic', 'southern/balkan' and so forth doesn't exist.

Conversely in the UK the term 'central european' doesn't normally evoke Germany, Switzerland and Austria - although these countries are often part of a 'Central European' identity/history/culture. It is usually just a smaller sub-set of or even a casually used alternative term for 'eastern european'.

Speaking personally the last few years living/working in London have been interesting making lots of friends from all these countries - I only ever talk about specifically named countries, because there is so much complexity about how people view themselves and you can't really make any assumptions about people (ie better to remain neutral and listen to how people define/label themselves, if they do at all). Using generalising terms for diverse people is a bit of a gamble.

It is distracting, but he can finally JUMP!

Now if they also do something about that awful click-a-couple-'o-times-on-it combat system I might actually buy this and not abandon it 10 or so hours like the Enhanced Edition.

Um, I think we would have seen a bit more of it sooner if it was that close to release. It's probably due sometime next year...can't wait.

I think Alexander was talking about the next chapter (the Professor and Azar Javed.)

I remember playing the first time having great difficulty against the dog boss too. Playing this time though, I used the Aard sign and stunned him. A simple one hit kill finished him off with in couple of seconds. To be fair, I think I got lucky; I'm fairly certain he is resistant to stun attempts.

As Kadayi says, just make sure you have potions at the ready of any such battles. I've also been finding oils pretty useful for giving a big boost to your swords (not sure which oil it is, but I'm currently using one that boosts my silver sword damage by 40%.) Also, I've found the bomb that causes fear amongst the enemy to be very useful against large numbers. It even worked against some nasty looking vampires in the Night House. One of the things I feel that is a slight problem with the game is that it settles you into a bit of a false sense of security. Most of the time the fights are fairly straightforward and makes you think that the combat is pretty easy, but once in a while you come across some enemies that are really tough. Being prepared for these is very important.

Bloody burning dog boss, yes. Argh.

I think it would've been less bad if the battle wasn't preceded by a loooong dialogue scene. That you had to repeat at every failure, since... no saving during combat. (Item #12 on the List Of Things Dragon Age Does Right: Always autosaving right after pre-battle talky choicy bit.)

@Alexander:

Given the contents of the original's "outro" video and the sequel's title, I'd suspect there is some connection. And since they can't play the amnesiac card again, I'm curious if they're going to pull a Mass Effect 2 ("your choices carry over via savegame") or a KotOR 2 ("establish retroactively by dialogue what happened in the original") or... just refer to the ending in broad strokes and ignore the details of how you got there. Or something else entirely.

I suppose your Lone Gunslinger scenario would be the easiest to handle. (Many of Geralt's friends can't get killed, far as I recall, but their attitudes towards him are very changeable. So, including them would require carryover of some kind. Or a lot of amnesia.)
